Guesthouse Varnica — Hotel in Grad Kaštela

This was a brief stopover for us, between arriving at the airport and transferring to the ferry the following day. The manager was magnificent. Great communication throughout our awkward journey and sorted transport both from the airport and to the ferry for a good price. The apartment itself is large and well-equipped, with comfy beds. Breakfast was good here too. I feel a little bad about marking the location as good rather than great as it was perfect for us. A short hop from the airport after a long day of travelling and fairly easy access to the ferries. You are a few roads back from the seafront which has a couple of great restaurants and bars. And a very nice gelateria. For our stopover, it was perfect but not sure I would want to spend much longer here without my own transport.||||As is common in many Croatian B&B and apartments, there is not air-conditioning in every room which meant, for us, sleeping with the bedroom doors open and the one A/C unit on during our hot July night. Nothing serious, though, and a great value...

Avevo prenotato una notte presso di loro tramite Booking.||Venti giorni prima della partenza chiedo se effettuano servizio di transfer porto/guesthouse/guesthouse/aeroporto e confermano la disponibilità (premetto che avevo già dato giorni e orari necessari per il transfer) . La sera prima del soggiorno sono loro stessi a richiedermi conferma degli orari per l'arrivo. A quel punto dopo la mia conferma dicono che non posso più effettuare il transfer loro ma , guarda caso, possono propormi un partner a prezzo doppio del pattuito a suo tempo. A quel punto mi trovo spiazzata, a poche ore dall'arrivo non so come organizzarmi per i transfer, oltre a trovarlo poco corretto, per cui li chiamo chiedendo la motivazione e mi dicono che hanno molti ospiti in arrivo e poche macchine a disposizione. Io eccepisco che se però io sono stata la prima a cui avevano confermato la disponibilità dovevano essere gli ospiti successivi a organizzarsi diversamente. Semplicemente sottolineo gentilmente che sarebbe bastato che a suo tempo avessero detto che potevano fare il Transfer ma non lo garantivano tutto qui e io mi sarei preparata "un piano B" e non confermarmelo (ho messaggi ovviamente a riprova). Niente ! Non capisce o fa finta di non capire,insiste che posso prendere un altro taxi etc.Chiudiamo la telefonata dove dico che avrei fatto in qualche modo e lui mi dice che la camera c'è e mi aspetta. Specifico che era la mezzanotte del giorni prima dell'arrivo da loro. La mattina quando mi sveglio trovo prima un messaggio della notte (oramai dormivo) dove mi dicevano che se volevo mi cancellavano la prenotazione con rimborso, poi controllo le mail e vedo che hanno cancellato di loro iniziativa la prenotazione.||Così a 10 ore dall'arrivo ci lasciano per strada senza motivo e diventano irrintracciabili! Sarà forse che nella telefonata ovviamente avevo accennato che nella recensione di booking avrei ovviamente segnalato questa cosa? guarda caso senza soggiorno non posso lasciare su Booking la recensione. Errore ingenuo mio.||L'unica nota a loro favore è che hanno rimborsato... e ci mancherebbe dico io!||Comunque per me totalmente scorretti!!!...

We arrived at the guesthouse at night and were checked in by a young man. He told us that our room is on the third floor but there is no lift, which is quite impractical with three suitcases. However, I did not get upset and tried to lift the suitcase up step by step. The man, however, had a problem with it and said that I had to carry the suitcase completely. Then I said that I couldn’t do it, because it weighs 20 kilos. He did not offer his help, nor he wanted to find a solution. The young man just disappeared. The End of the Story: Two Young Women had to carry three suitcases to the third floor. The Room was ok, the Service...
