Port9 Campsite by Aminess — Hotel in Grad Korčula

Advertising a camping parcel as Premium, means one should deliver a premium product, especially one which is as described per camping/hotel website. Sadly there are lots of half truths on Port 9 website. First of all: they don't have premium parcels at all, even with a reservation made months earlier you will be offered two smaller parcels as your "premium" one - most likely with connections far away. There are only two parcels on the camping which have actual connections to the water/sewage system and the hotel tries hard to sell the nearby ones as premium too, but you will require a water/sewage hoses of a minimum 20 meters each. Secondly - most of the "premium" and some of the normal parcels require you to leave HALF of them free of obstacles, because another guest may need it to drive his/hers vehicle in/out, to get to their parcel! Yes! - you will have a drive through on your own parcel. This is simply unacceptable with a premium camping product. Parcels themself are uneven and not prepared for better equipped recreational vehicles with showers or even basic water amenities like sinks which require more or less even ground. The Pool is for hotel guests only, camping toilets and showers were clean most of the time, but they were almost always lacking paper towels and soap. We've been delivered an economic product, falsely advertised as a premium one and of course in a premium price. The staff is very helpful and surroundings are very nice, but this is simply not enough, if they want to be a premium camping...

Perfect location, nice view from the pitch, and easy access to the water. Close to the ferry terminal, and only 2km walk to Korcula old town. Two nice pebble beaches on the site, nice to swim and snorkel The pitches, while being spacious, couldn't accommodate more than a SWB van. Electric hookup was available, but for mine I had to cross two other pitches and some stairs to plug in. 25m was just long enough for me. The check in staff said they would get me an extension cord, but after waiting 10 minutes and no one came back I gave up. The toilet and showers weren't very clean. There was only one person cleaning both facilities the entire time I stayed there. She was friendly and happy whenever we crossed paths. The dish washing area was always a mess, with food scraps and rubbish strewn everywhere, but that is more a reflection on the guests than the campsite There was no hot water in the evenings, so it was cold showers and washing dishes in cold water. I did mention this to staff whenever I saw them and was told they would look into it. The check in staff were unhappy and obviously didn't like their jobs and employers. They were more than happy to tell me all the negative aspects of the park and everything that is wrong with it and the management. The checkout staff were wonderful, really helpful and friendly (even if I did leave without paying), but that was all sorted and no problems...

Really nice campsite with great service and great view. We really liked staying there and prolonged our vacation because we really enjoyed ambient, seaside, wildbeach "Puntakriž", animation acitvities at the campsite...it was really worth staying there! We loved it! Camp pitches are various and you can find those beneath the trees and in shade, and those more exposed to the sun so you can choose. Toilets are celaned regulary and are very decent. There are a lot of grills in the camp, but only a few grids for grill so you will probably have to look for it arround. The terrain on the pitches is leveled, but if you place a tent, make sure you can secure your tent into the ground because on some plots of pitch it is impossible to make a hole because of stony surface beneath. Overall you will probably like the camp even if you are demanding. If you enjoy nature and beauty, you will be delighted! Oh yea there are also taxi boats that take you to city Korčula and back for 15hrk to each direction. Just make sure you go on the right boat, because all taxi boats are parked close together in the city marina. So just ask the person next to boat:" Is this Port9 15hrk taxi?" Taxi is operational whole day!
