To start with this is not a negative review of this hotel, it is nicely decorated, in a wonderful location and the breakfast provided was superb. However my wife and I both feel it is over priced. The room we stayed in was small although it states it is 23 sqm on the website I find this a little difficult to believe, the decor is elegant but unfortunately the fridge in our room and unit it was housed in both had doors hanging off. Not really what you would expect when everything else was so well presented. I would also not really describe this as a hotel it is more of a well dressed bed and breakfast. Our room was 1500 kuna (about 200 euros) a night and I have to say really wasn't worth it. The balcony on our room is a shared balcony with the room next to ours separated by a canvas partition that flapped, banged and squeaked all day and night. Again this is not really a problem just not what you would expect considering the premium. It is a pity because I feel if it had not been so expensive we would have completely overlooked these points. Just to clarify this is a nicely fitted and well presented room but it does not feel like a hotel, it feels like a bed and breakfast which incidentally for the breakfast you have to leave the front door of the building go up the street and round the corner to an excellent restaurant/bar called Volsonis. Again this isn't a problem but not really what you expect for the price. There is free parking but you have to find a space in the public car parks, I actually read this in someone else's review and thought what a stupid thing to say but in fact for the price I don't really want to park in a public car park. Bloody hell this has gone on and it sounds really awful, It isn't, it's a really cute room but just not the level you would expect, staying here feels like we have rented a well decorated room in an excellent location but not a room in a hotel. Would we stay again? probably not. We would however go for breakfast in...
Read moreThe hotel Placa is a lovely little hotel in the heart of the old town in Krk. The (inexpensive) public parking is about 100 yards away across the town square and places (in October) seemed reasonably available. Apparently, there is another free car park further up the hill, but we didn’t use it. The (standard) room we had was small but perfectly well-equipped and had a nice sized bathroom. Staff were very helpful and friendly in helping us find what we needed. Our sat nav was pretty useless in getting us to the hotel because it is in a pedestrian zone - make sure you contact the hotel before arrival for directions.||||Breakfast is in a close-by cafe on the town square and, if you need dinner, we can recommend the...
Read moreThe cutest hotel in the middle of the town! Our room was so amazing in terms of space and feeling (we stayed in room 5) and we had such a lovely view form the window/terrace. It was so quiet during the night as well. The weather was so bad so it felt great to have a nice place to stay. Very clean and tidy room. Nothing to complain in terms of the actual hotel!
– Only minus was the breakfast (next doors in a bar/club/restaurant called Volsonis), we felt a lot of cigarette smoke since all of the staff smoked inside which felt a bit unfriendly when eating. The breakfast was ok, but the whole environment made us not wanting to come back. We can definitely recommend the hotel but not...
