We arrived at the hotel the day it opened and it is very beautiful, albeit turf was still being laid and finishing touches made. We were greeted by friendly staff but there was no explanation about the facilities and our passports were taken for the duration, which I didn't like. We also weren't given our welcome drink which was disappointing as we had been up since 2am to travel.||Our accommodation was a garden suite. It's a small ground floor apartment. It was very nicely refurbished with an extremely comfortable bed and modern bathroom. It also had a little garden and seating. It was helpful to have a separate room from our son too and a TV for both of us to relax for an hour or so before going out at night. The quality of our son's sofa bed was poor however and there was a huge gap at the back that he fell down a couple of times at night. ||The food at the resort is served from a buffet. The quality of the food was excellent, but the setting was not. It was akin to feeding time at the zoo. Way too many people scrabbling for the same food, long queues and it meant eating separately most of the time and cold food. There are not enough drinks stations either. The hotel could have set up the same food station outside as inside and this would have helped, but only part of the food is replicated e.g. There is no tea outside and so if you go outside to get juice then you have to make a further trip inside for tea. It meant spending looks of time walking around looking for things. In the end we went out for 90% of our evening meals because we wanted to sit and enjoy time together as a family and in peace.||Re cleaning of our apartment, this was appalling. I have never known such a terrible standard. I complained in the end and the apartment was given a good clean once. Some days we would be left with only 1 large towel to share between 3 of us. A cleaner broke a glass in our room and just left it above our fridge. Given that I have a 5 year old this was just dangerous.||The Animation Team Leader, Davor, is terrific, 5 stars for him and made the holiday for us. He works so, so hard. He made our 5 year old so happy. Playing games, dancing and having a big smile on his face at all times. My son won certificates for winning games and loved learning the actions to loads of songs that Davor knew brilliantly. I did a couple of work outs with Davor too and he was super. I hope that the hotel management team reward his valuable contribution as he made our holiday.||What the hotel needs is:||1. A better set up for meals so that families can sit and eat together in peace. Reworking the outside food station would achieve this.||2. A gym or proper workout space for Davor to do his programme. Laying on the uneven grass in the boiling sunshine is no good.||3. Cleaning staff to be trained and supervised about standards for rooms.||4. More games in the daytime for children, as they are great, and Parents able to sign their children into kids club sometimes. The fact that you have to supervise your child when they are in kids club is pretty pointless. |||To sum up, for what we paid for 2 weeks we felt that we got value for money and the kids pool animation team and staff generally made it great. s why we expect the worse, but we have decided to and give Istria one more chance. But from the arrival till our departure we (including our children) have been treated as the "Kings" :-). We have meet extremally nice and happy people ! The most important is we did not felt that their attitude is fake or they play some role. They have been their selves and for us it was the most important. During our stay we experienced 3 problems, which have been fixed in no time and in very pleasant way, with the smile. In one of them we did not ask to do it, Hotel staff discover it and did it by themselves. For staff, manager and Person who did recruitment bravo ! The last thing, we felt safe. Security patrol the area during the day and night, during the meals in the restaurant was "floor manager" (I am sorry I do not now correct title of this person) who really control what
s going on, we have even see District Manager/Director/Manager (this is just observation), he was there and check with local director everything. That's mean the company really carry for the facilities and quality control is present. Meals: Good, tasty, it was okay. Every day it was basic (pizza, pasta, meat, salad station, fruit station, fish station etc.) + something different everyday + free drinks. Pools: Clean, Tidy - ok. Price: Adequate to quality. The most important is: this not another 3000 people place with plastic houses like other facilities on Istria, this is small (comparing to other Istrian facilities) nice, friendly hotel where after 2 days everybody knows everybody which increase safeties. Around everything were under construction, with garden workers and noises of garden machines.|For that amount of money that was too much, so I have made complaint to hotel managment.|They have admit their mistake, apologise and gave us appartment...but every morning around 7 o'clock gardeners start to work putting grass in front of appartments area...||In the restaurant you have to wait, they aren't ready for so many people. They are lacking in many things...no notice with the name of food, just some of them...|Not enough people in the kitchen, so you have to wait on them to prepare you a food...|I never seen so much lines on every steps...|If you want a drink step in the line for at least 5 minutes...it is irritating...|In 4* hotel you unexpected that...||It is much overpriced for the quality of service they provide it.||Did I mention that maid have not clean our bathroom for 3 days...towels were changed after 2 days when I complained at the reception desk...|To get reception over phone was misdion impossible...||And at the end I have to wait almost one hour at check out while they are checking my payment with their central booking place at Plava Laguna...|||What a mess, incredible at all ;)||There is a much better place for that price in Porec and at other places along the...
