Wanted a hotel outside of the hustle and bustle of Split and this hotel was just the job It shares a car park with the entrance to the Roman archaeological ruins and it's quite interesting to have a stroll around, watching keen archaeologists digging in the dirt Hotel was very nice-trying hard to portray an opulent feel, but still providing good value for money Unfortunately, a coach party caused mayhem during breakfast. I think most of the problems could have been solved by providing either an urn (not necessarily a Roman one) of coffee, or jugs of filter coffee instead of the single machine that dispensed fluids in all directions, like an old man at a urinal People of all nationalities were finding it hard to decipher the options on the coffee machine and it would then pause for an achingly long time before anything went in, around or near the tiny cup At least there was yoghurt…in pots! Not many of the light controls in the room appeared to do anything and the shower heads looked like they could do with a good old scrub

Big pro: directly next door to the Salona Roman ruins which are fabulous! Otherwise we didn't love it; lack of staff & cost cutting everywhere made it a 3 star experience with a hefty price tag. I advise against having dinner in the garden restaurant, we had very unpleasant service & mediocre food. Drinks are very expensive (5€ for the small tonic that goes with the 4.50€ single gin!) and the selection is limited.. not on the menu but in reality 🤦🏼‍♀️ The outdoor pool & sauna are lovely but the other spa facilities are in need of maintenance & cleaning, particularly the steam room which is revolting. The outdoor jacuzzi was out of order & clearly had been for a while, no mention of this on the website & unacceptable given it's part of the main spa attraction. First floor Cesar suite very noisy night & day as directly above the pool & bar. I think it very unlikely we would stay again.

Great architecture. Very bad organisation with space and outside guests who are not hotel guests. The waiters cover pool area and the restaurant and the reception area which is 3 floors up so it is there best that you prepare for some waiting. Prices are high but they have excellent wine selection and great vege burger if you want to eat something fast, not to sit in the restaurant. They have very nice menu, my selection would be tortellini with pesto genovese. Cheesecake is awesome... Wellness has 2 saunas, one is Turkish and another is Finish. 1 jacuzzi which you can adjust by yourself (like home jacuzzi) and small swimming pool inside. Locker room has 5 lockers, 2 showers and 1 toilet. During summer it is very cozy next to the pool and very refreshing.

We turned up at around 10pm - the bar had no snacks available apart from 7 euro nuts and no soft drinks, not even water. The only drink they could offer us was jager. ||The room was supposed to sleep 3 people - but was only set for 2. A small pull out bed was put in the room which left us no space to move or store our suitcases. We only had 2 towels between 3 people. It took days to get a third towel even though we requested it multiple times. It took 3 days to get an extra towel. ||Air-con was awful - it was warm air and you cant control the temperature.||The rooms were not cleaned daily. They refilled the shower gel daily but that was all. The shower was not cleaned, nor was the sink. Bed sheets were not changed for 10 days!! They tidied the duvet but never changed the duvet sheet to be fresh and clean. ||We were told we were not allowed to eat in the lobby (the only cool area in the hotel) - could not relax there. It felt like a show hotel rather than a luxury hotel. ||We were also told we were not allowed to have our water bottles by the pool (sorry we wanted to stay hydrated). We had to buy water or a drink for 5 euro each from their restaurant (heavily overpriced when you have a shop where you can get a drink for 2 euro across the road).||Another downside was the amount of greenery around the pool -it meant that it was surrounded by wasps and mosquitos - quite unbearable by the end as everyone was covered in bites or stings. ||Breakfast - small room which did not have capacity to seat the amount of people for the hotel. We had to wait a while to be seated and there was no acknowledgment of us standing and waiting. Food was also cold most of the time. There was no hot plate to keep hot food warm, so if you want hot food you have to guess when fresh food is coming so you can get it warm, otherwise its cold breakfast all week. ||Staff were also quite rude - the tone in which they talk to you is condescending. Less than helpful. The gentleman who works nights there was the only staff member who was very friendly and helpful.||'Spa' only had one working shower. ||This is far from a luxury hotel - we will not be returning. Does not deserve 4*. Waste of money - stay in central...

Not a 4-star hotel. Perhaps it was a long time ago, but not now. Barely makes 3.5 stars. From the outside, it doesn’t look like anything special. The pictures make it look nicer than it is. The reception area was very nice and modern.

Our first room was a dump. The wallpaper was falling apart, the carpet was stained and dirty, the runner at the end of the bed was dirty, there were numerous nicks and scratches on the walls, and the divider between the carpet and the bathroom tile was missing. The bathroom was the worst, though: the sink was badly chipped, the grout along the wall corners and floor was mouldy owing to poor ventilation, and the shower was a tub with a half glass where the shower was aimed to spray the rest of the bathroom instead of you. Not a great start. This was room 321.

We moved into a different room on the second day and it was in better condition. This one had a glass shower stall that was better. Still not amazing, but ok. The ventilation wasn’t much better in this room, so there was still mould in places.

The breakfast was lacklustre. If you came later than 9:30 most of it would be gone and picked over. It wasn’t great quality.

The staff were pleasant enough, but the housekeepers were not friendly and did some strange things, like move around our towels (not even to replace them—just take the hanging towels and put them back on the counter). We almost got charged for minibar use even though we didn’t take anything; the housekeeper never restocked the fridge before we moved into that room and only restocked it on our last day, leaving reception to believe we used it.

The place is in need of renovation and is not worthy of 4 stars. The area was quiet, though. Would not recommend, especially since you need to drive about 15-20 minutes to...

How disappointing, this hotel certainly does not deserve the rating it has. |Our room was drab, not helped by the grey decor.|The curtains were falling off the curtain rails, our bedsheet was ripped, the shower was dirty as was the bathroom floor. The shower head was black and mouldy as were the tiles. The facias of the cupboards had fallen off. |There was also no shower mat. Only 1 cushion on balcony chair, the balcony was covered in filthy footprints,|We did not feel comfortable staying here and were glad to leave. We arrived after a long journey and couldn’t be bothered to complain as we were so tired. I did advise the receptionist about the sheet and curtains in the morning, she said she would inform the housekeeper.|The restaurant is on the ground floor very drab and cheerless, no windows. |I had steak and it was tough, soggy and limp, the chips far far too salty. The panna cotta and chocolate cake were so sweet we could not eat them.|There were 2 coach parties in and they completely took over the breakfast buffet - no cups, no fresh fruit or croissants. The coffee was absolutely diabolical so bitter it was undrinkable and no tables to sit at. |The breakfast room is too small to cope and individuals have nowhere to sit apart from in the lobby. |The waiter tried his best to refill but the fresh fruit was only replaced later in the morning after we had left.|The overall impression is a cheap and cheerless hotel which packs them in for least cost. |The only redeeming factor is the waiting staff which were very friendly and helpful.|I don’t normally write reviews but I felt I had to in this case. We stayed in Croatia 3 weeks, in similar priced hotels, this one was notably at the very bottom of the...
