Overall the hotel was great and better than expected, especially for the star rating and the price. Few small things that could be improved but nothing major. The staff were very friendly, and always happy to help.|The transfer service offered by the hotel was very reasonably priced compared to taxis in the city, and apps like Uber, the driver also very friendly. The hotel were always willing to allow changes to transfer bookings where possible too. |The rooms was a decent size for what we paid, was always cleaned, and had good amenities. Our main issues with the whole stay were with the room though, firstly although the air on worked, and did cool down the room a bit, it did not make the room cool enough and it was still quite hot, and sadly the hotel did not have a fan we could use. Secondly the fridge in the hotel room did not keep things cold enough, anything kept there was definitely cooler, but not fridge cold, the fridge also output a lot of heat, which didn’t help with the heat of the room over all.|Other than this there was ample storage space, and power plugs (which was nice as I often find hotels don’t have enough for the amount of battery powered devices people have now days). Our room, and I’m guessing most of the others had great views of the mountains surrounding split that you wouldn’t get with a lot of the inner city hotels.|The breakfast served was always enough to set us up for the day, though it was the same spread every day, we were more than happy with it. The hotel restaurant was good, though we only ate our evening meal here once, the food we had was tasty and a reasonable price again, though we felt the menu a little smal, given the size of the hotel this wasn’t a surprise, not an issue as there are a wide range of restaurants close by for eat out or delivery. |The hotel staff always gave great advice on local information, and a wide array of excursions to offer. Though the hotel is a bit out of the way there are still plenty of things on easy reach, the city centre is only about a 30 minute walk away, and there is bike hire available nearby if you don’t want to walk or get a cab|We were very pleased with the stay, a perfect...
Read moreChose this hotel because it was one of the cheaper ones in the area. It might look a little far out on the map to tourists, but it was a very short and cheap cab ride to Old Town/Harbour, etc (10 mins) and about 20-30 mins tops from the airport. Area didn't seem very nice, but views of mountains were lovely. Rooms are bare bones, but did the job for us where we spent a lot of time out and about. Standard Rooms have towels, 2 in 1 shower gel/shampoo and a little bar of soap, hairdryer (mine didn't work), minibar, tv. Brekkie is a lot of cold pastry, bread, cheese, fruit. Hot stuff included some very scary sausages, some sad egg, no toast in sight. I liked it though. Couldn't find any English Breakfast tea, just herbals so bring your own teabags.
PROS All Staff are very nice Lobby is very clean and nice to sit in Outside tables to have a drink and smoke at Cheap Close to tourist attractions Breakfast is alright Bed, shower, sink, towels, glasses were clean Air con worked It was quiet mostly, some odd bumps and bangs from around 5am There is a minibar which I guess is a pro but I didn't touch it Reception is staffed 24 hours WiFi worked fine
CONS No KETTLE in room, Brits and Irish BEWARE Be very careful to make sure you close the room doors, they aren't weighted so they won't close behind you, so more than once my group returned to our doors to find they were open slightly. Carpets are really stained and felt so dirty so I didn't take my shoes off except to get into bed My toilet seat had a brown stain where you would sit Bed is VERY creaky No amenities (no gym, pool, toothpaste) No shop within walking distance? No elevator but this wasn't an issue for us, and staff will offer to take your...
Read moreMixed feelings. The hotel was decent. The rooms are very small but were just enough for me and my cousin. Unfortunately, the walls are extremely thin—you can clearly hear people talking in neighboring rooms. One night, we were woken up at 3 a.m. by very loud guests, which was frustrating. On the plus side, breakfast was good, and the location is convenient—just a 10-minute Uber ride to the Riva, costing around €5. However, there were several issues that affected our stay. First, there's no elevator, which may be important to know for some travelers. Second, the stairs to the second floor have a serious safety hazard (see photo). My cousin hit her head hard on a low ceiling section that’s easy to miss—warning signs are absolutely needed there. Another concern was the attitude of one of the reception staff—a female receptionist with a curly brunette bob. Her dismissive and unhelpful demeanor really impacted our experience. She often responded with a smirk and a shrug, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. Lastly, for guests with evening flights, be aware that the hotel doesn’t offer any shower or washroom access after checkout. We were denied even a towel to freshen up and had to use the downstairs toilet with tissues and wipes like savages—something that really soured the end of our stay. I would’ve gladly paid to use a proper shower, but again, we were met with indifference. This hotel has potential, but some basic improvements and better customer service would...
