We had the chance of staying by in the livingstone beach house at the corner (the one with the garden). The house itself is pretty, clean and spacious but the real gem is the view and proximity to the beach. The infinity pool is clean, spacious and very private. When you are in the infinity pool, you seem to float in the sea, very cleverly designed. For the first week only our family was using the pool, in the weekend another family joined sometimes. The garden was our living room! Under the shade of the beautiful tree it was comfortable (it was very hot!) , so we had plenty of drinks and barbecues there.
Some things to consider when booking: the road behind the house is very busy and noisy and it felt not super safe walking there. Because of the proximity to the airport, there are planes coming over every 20 minutes but this did not bother us. The house is very big, with 4 floors so there are a lot of steps (good workout). We were with small children so we had to pay attention to them while walking the stairs.
The house is located at a 15 minute (sportive) walk from the beautiful center of Trogir. We also used €5 Ubers sometimes and we took the boat once. Trogir has everything from nice restaurants, to bars, 2 museums/ castle , small shops and grocery stores. We can highly recommend restaurants Konoba Trs, Pizzera Murtila, Wild West and Mare. Butcher Mesnica Škokić serves beautiful meat which we used to barbecue. Good coffee can be found at Tinel. For cocktails we went to bar Choice where you have a stunning harbour view. We were with 3 small kids so we did not test the nightlife, but Trogir is very lively at night.
There is not much shopping besides the small touristic shops. Everything seems to be located in a mall outside of Split, which we loved because it makes the city even more authentic.
We chartered a boat with skipper for half a day, which was worth every euro. As we were with small kids we did not make a big tour, but we went to the blue lagoon and 2 smaller bays where we could swim, see fishes and drink a cocktail from the cocktail boat that came by.
With my mom we decided to go Split for 1 day by taxi ( €30 one way) because the boat times were not convenient for us. We did a free walking tour which was great. Plenty of nice restaurants in town too.
Last but least a big thank you to our host Mia, who assured that everything was to our needs. She was there upon arrival, checked in upon us the next day and came by several times during our stay. She gave us plenty of tips beforehand and even lent us a sup board for a few days (which we gratefully used). She was super responsive, both before and during our stay. Thanks a lot!
In general I was very surprised about the hospitality of Croatians. We have met very nice locals; our kids played with theirs. The service in restaurants was very good, taxi drivers and shop owners very polite and even the airport staff was friendly, relaxed and understanding. Other countries should take them as an example!
We cannot wait to discover more of Croatia, it has stolen...
Read moreWe visited in early June '24 and this was our second stay. The perfect place for a Croatian vacation. Villa is perfectly located within a 10 minute walk from Trogir old town, with the option of water taxi every hour. The beach has recently been extended and is great for swimming/snorkelling. There's a large infinity pool shared across the villas, but we had it to ourselves for the entire stay. Absolutely stunning views!
The villa itself was spotless, spacious, very modern and a very high standard. All bedrooms have huge windows with breathtaking views of the bay. The balcony is a great place to chill and chat at the end of the day.
Mia, our host, was amazing. Super friendly, excellent communication and extremely attentive. Great local knowledge and able to recommend sites, trips and places to eat. She organised an early check in and late departure for us, and recommended a fabulous restaurant (Queen Teuta) in Trogir old town - the food there is delicious and very well...
Read moreWonderful experience at every aspect! I would like to start from our Host- Mia was so supportive and kind. Helped us a lot to provide each and everything for our comfortable stay. Livingstone beach house has amazing location with swimming pool and beachfront. You can have direct access to beach with all rooms facing beach-scenic view. Our stay was in no: 3 villa with 5 spacious bedrooms and 6 baths. Linens were clean and kitchenette has everything to cook your food. We stayed for 3 nights. I would like to suggest stay here for more days and explore surrounding areas like Hvar, Vis and other islands, boat tour and even zadar. Overall amazing stay....
