vila La Settima Luna — Hotel in Grad Umag

A small hotel 5-10 minute walk from the shore. It has only about 3 parking spots, but there is plenty of street parking immediately around it. It's listed as 4-star and even has that painted on the wall in the dining area, but I feel like that rating must have been quite a while ago, with lots of deferred maintenance piling up since then. Our room's ground-level balcony door could not be latched, and there were multiple non-working light bulbs and a large gob-of-caulk shower repair in the bathroom, etc. The walls are paper thin, which became a problem for us when the neighbor started watching TV at full volume at 11:30 pm, and then at 12:30 am decided to place a long, angry phone call lasting nearly an hour. This inconsiderate behavior was not the hotel's fault of course, but just be aware you will be at the mercy of other's bad behavior. There is no staff on site overnight, so there is really no recourse unless you want to confront the angry neighbor personally. Bring ear plugs.||||On the plus side, the staff were friendly and the on-site pizzeria was excellent. The owner was very friendly and engaged us in a 20 minute conversation upon learning we were American. On the down side it was a very one-sided conversation where he told us that all the horrors in Ukraine were staged for TV, the Serbian Orthodox church was the only true religion, he likes Americans but hates America, and consistently referred to Croatia as Yugoslavia. I didn't feel like we made a real connection, but it's hard to be mad when he gifted us a nice bottle of Prosecco...

Ho soggiornato presso questa struttura dal primo di Luglio 2023 insieme al mio compagno ed al nostro cane di media taglia. |Sono rimasta delusa da diverse cose in questo soggiorno. Siccome la struttura accetta cani, come in passato, non ci siamo posti nessuna domanda. Quando in loco ci è stato comunicato che il costo del soggiorno del cane ammonta a 20 Euro a notte ( tariffa a mio avviso sproporzionata all'albergo in questione), abbiamo pensato almeno di avere un servizio di pulizia e ordine propozionato al prezzo. Invece la camera non veniva pulita giornalmente ( che dovrebbe essere normaleanche senza animale domestico)e per di più abbiamo dormito su lenzuola usa e getta in tessuto non tessuto con il piumino senza copripiumino. E alla richiesta di poter avere un copripiumino ci è stato detto che non lo mettono perché fa caldo. Sinceramente non mi sembra molto igienica questa soluzione. All'inizio del soggiorno c'era un ragazzo che sapeva almeno parlare l'inglese, ma dopo tre giorni era sparito ed al posto suo ci siamo trovati del personale che non parlava che la propria lingua. |La colazione era molto essenziale per non dire scarsa, niente a che vedere con ciò che pubblicizzano sui vari siti ed agenzie.|Devo ammettere, che questo è stato il servizio peggiore che ho mai avuto in un albergo e lo trovo un gran peccato, perché tutto sommato le stanze sarebbero anche carine.|E consiglierei al gestore di non accettare animali domestici, se poi il servizio pagato non viene dato ,l'impressione è quella di guadagnare di più offrendo il...

Excellent boutique hotel not far away from Umag (5-10 minutes drive). Rooms are very well kept, modern, quiet, big bathroom, huge bed, a balcony, free wi-fi in public areas as well as in the room. There is a free parking space in front of the hotel. Service was also excellent and very friendly with a drink on the house upon arrival. The hotel is also 200m from Degrassi winery which is a must when in Istria. Definitely worth recommending and an excellent...
