Matilde Beach Resort — Hotel in Grad Vodice

This was my first time to Croatia and so I didn’t know what to expect so my expectations were low, I am usually a 5star kind of girl.||I would recommend booking your apartment directly with the complex rather than using Booking.com etc, this is what I did and it was so easy, the team in reception were so happy to help with our questions and requests for rooms to be close ti facilities etc.||We went for 3 1 bed sea view apartments and the views were to die for looking over the islands and harbour. This complex backs onto the beach and the lively beach promenade. I’ve seen some people complaining about the noise that comes from the beach bars and yes due to the close proximity you can here the music from your balcony, however, once you are inside with doors and windows shut I could not hear a thing.||Apartments have all you need for a self catering stay, Table and chairs for 4, sofa bed and tv in front part, small kitchenette, with kettle/ coffee machine, sink, hob, fridge and cutlery. Bedroom had double bed, bed linen desk and wardrobe, with door out to the balcony. ||Beach towels are provided on request from reception, bathroom towels were changed several times over the 5 day stay and plenty of toilet roll. Beds are not made or linen changed only once a week. Hairdryers can be borrowed from reception.||Pool was lovely for a refreshing dip but not heated, plenty of sun loungers around the pool but think they would be better investing in either some cushions for the plastic loungers or replacing them all with the rotten type of beds we found these a lot more comfortable.||There is no pool bar as such but there is a waiter that will take drink orders however, there is limited “snake” type food available maybe just a potion of fries. ||However, there are plenty of bars and food| places on the beach to eat.||Beach is a public beach but if you are staying at the apartments the loungers are free. ||Lovely location with a short walk into the centre of Vodice via the lovely Harbour.where you can pose in front of the luxury boats. There are also supermarkets close by to get anything you need. ||The distance from the airport is around 100 euros for an hours taxi ride. ||The complex has a restaurant on site that serves breakfast between 730 to 1030 normal buffet type breakfast no omelettes or freshly made eggs but plenty of food to eat. A little manic between 9 and 1030 but chilled if you go earlier. The restaurant in the evening doesn’t have a large selection of food but what we tried was very nice.||All the staff most helpful from helping us book restaurant’s or taxis etc. ||So to sum up, this little apartment complex exceeded all my expectations and more. ||Thank you all employees at the Matilde beach for making this family holiday one of the best...

The appartment was good. Luxurious and clean. Staff was nice and friendly. It's a small park, adivertised for families with childeren. It has a nice small swimming pool and a restaurant with nice people. But.... The view of the first row appartments is on a parking lot.. Secondly... At 16.00 the beach discotheque starts up.. 50 m from te park. Lasts till late... At 22.00 the music is turned down a bit but you still can't sit outsite on your terrace. It's terrible. Staff of the park acknowledge as well as the stff of the restaurant but are very afraid to say something since the owner of the discoteque seems to be the same as the park owner... The noise is really terrible and it's a vague signal staff doesn't really dare to say something... We left after 2 days whilst booked for two weeks. The reception initially tried to let us to pay the full two weeks amount for parking costs.... It's definetely NOT a family park. We paid 3000 euro for two weeks through Topic Travel who after our complaint did not accept our claim since we could have known since the website says a lively environment ( the employee who spoke with us did not visit the parc). Well the usual bla bla but fair is fair they arranged for us an alternative place at Island Rab (appartments Sua punta, Carolina). 3 hrs extra drive + ferry and 250 euro extra but a fabulous place and a great modern appartment where we had a great great time! So, travel agencies as topic travel and vacance select, don't sell Mathilde in Vodice as a family parc. It's a youth party centre with loud music and sligjtly obscene beach discotheque 50 m away but seen the price not affordable for...

Expensive dirty, damaged appartment with the view of Kitchen backdoor and unfinished building.

There is Wifi - but our did not work - answer - use the ones that are from appartment next to you and above... which of course did not work 80% of time, cause there was signal too weak. In whole week noone cared to fix it.

There was a cable lying in Bathroom - probably to accomodate the wasching machine that may be will be operational next season ?, there was however no outlet in bathroom, and no hair dryer - so they are misleading in their description.

Bathroom has no real ventilation, just a window without fly screen - so Mosquitos can fly in.

Shower was moldy and missing a door... Air conditioning worked, though the device looked it was not cleaned a long time. Couch in living room was missing parts - anyway it was very unstable - we did not set it for sleeping - it was so when we came in - but I would not try to sleep there...

Kitchen equipment - for example: Wine glassses are listed - since it can accomodate 6 ppl, there was one glass :)

There is no "do not disturb" card, so whether you want it or not, Staffer (nice guy) will ring the doorbell - not very good for families with children that sleep during day - happened to us also.

Parking is a bit chaotic ... in pictures of the "resort" it seemed like there are spaces near the appartment... well .. only if you...
