Hotel Horizont — Hotel in Općina Baška Voda

Not recommended! We really had a very terrible stay there, so complicated to get things solved (for e.g. broken/not working mini bar fridge in the hotel room.. we were told that the whole hotel has not working fridges this summer and that we have to accept it. After 6 days we had the idea to ask other hotel guest’s if their fridge is working and they confirmed yes. At that point we felt very missused. How can the hotel crew lie in accordance? And the breakfast is also a very interesting topic.. in general: not recommendable/worth at all! The hotel crem turns off the lights some minutes prior the official breakfast time ends.. very unfriendly.

In general: we never had such a bad and really sad experience in Croatia. Luckily this is not our first croatian experience, as i am croatian. But this is not croatia, this is is something else, something I’ve never seen and experienced before. And no apologies can make the things good which we experienced, this hotel is not worth to spend any cent for.

Food: Loveless food, poorly prepared. These people can't even provide quality coffee! THIS IS NOT CROATIA! At 10 o'clock in the morning, while the guests are still eating, the lights are turned off at least punctually at 10:00, because breakfast is then over.

Staff: Extremely belligerent/not friendly Generally no desire to work, probably due to the poor pay (except for some). If you complain about something you are looked at threateningly.

Room: Dirty bed linen on arrival Stinky rooms because of old carpet; just ugly! Demotivating interior Back pain from the (fake double beds) No mini fridge for days, called 10 times until something happened. Leaky rooms, you can hear what the neighbor is doing

Activity: Tennis court is terrible and unkempt Pool is unkempt and disgusting Fitness room is derty too and can only be useed if you pay additionally.

Parking lot: Directly under big trees, if you care about your varnish of your car, park somewhere else. If you need your car let them know at least 4 hours in advance, they park everything so they don't even know where left and right is and you can't get to your own car because it's blocked - they have to move all other cars which are variously parked everywhere.

Location: Directly at the beach, the only thing that was not lied in the hotel description.

Would never...

Very dirty, very old, unmaintained (everything), black and visible mold in the bathroom, mold in the pool, dirty saunas, the pool with cold water does not change the water and is very dirty, out of about 10 saunas every day only two work ( we were there for two weeks and it was like that every day), in the spa center the tiles on the floor are torn and dangerous, which no one reacts to, no one controls the entry of children into dangerous places, in the spa every two days there were no clean towels but at the very the opening of the spa center.

Rooms- The furniture on the balcony is rusty, the paper holder in the bathroom was torn off (see the picture), the carpets are old, they smell very bad, they have a lot of stains, the TV programs hardly work, the internet does not work well in the rooms, when you book a room with with a sea view, you get a room with a view of the parking lot (see picture) and one centimeter of the sea, but that's how they handle it and you can't do anything

Parking - there are only about 20 spaces at the hotel, and you pay 20 euros per day (not included in the room price), another option is parking in a cobbled and dusty remote part about 10 minutes' walk from the hotel, which also costs 12 euros per day. If you go to that other parking lot, the young man who is in charge of it drives with you in the car and walks with you to the back, which is a little annoying, and I hereby appeal to the owners to get him at least a mobility scooter or a scooter, because it is very rude for guests to enter cars and that this is the only way to show where the parking lot is.

General - When it rained in the lower restaurant it leaked, the waiters were already used to it, so we, as guests, moved the table and couches ourselves so that it wouldn't drip on us, the manager scolded the waiters very rudely in front of everyone in the hall and created a very unpleasant situation for all the guests.

It's surprising that this hotel still has so many stars and that the inspection hasn't already closed it down. It is obvious that it is not the fault of the staff who are working hard, but the owners or whoever, who does not want to invest even a euro in a facility that is falling apart.

So, the vacancy in the hotel horizont - baska voda was perfect. We had the room with a balcony on park side and we did not have to choose better than this (the sun only morning till 11am - perfect, we could use the balcony almost all day). The room was clean, they changed towels every day. We had breakfast and dinners and the food was good, 80% same food on breakfast, but big variety (sweets, cereals, bread, eggs on many forms, wurst many forms, bacon etc). Dinner-every day we found some new - every dinner included fish (also sea fish, sometimes shells...) The servise was very nice - ready for help, smiling, neat... I like them :) The big minus of the dinner, you have to buy drink and one bottle of water 1l for 4€ is really expensive - i think that the drink for a dinner should be free. (It is not allowed to bring your own bottle - we had the bottle put on the table because we came from outside and they told us to get it off, it can not be on the table...) Swimming pools in the hotel are perfect, we found a free sunbeds with a sunshade always and water was clean and good. The inside swimming pool was also great and bubles too. The location of the hotel is perfect - one think which embarrased me was a smell in the outside swimming pools around 5-6 pm due a restaurant borik. But promenade very nice, long, many small shops.
