I was supposed to send this review as soon as we reach home in here in England but time didn’t allow me due to work commitments hence I am doing it now. I cannot afford not to send this glowing review to this amazing hotel. We had an amazing time here! Spending our Christmas and my birthday here was very memorable! It was quiet but we had the most relaxing time. ||Grand Hotel Salvia is a great hotel. We love the ambiance and the interior design and where it was located. The sea view is spectacular as well as the view at the back as it is nestled in a mountain backdrop. Although we spent our holiday here during low season, it was surprisingly one of the most memorable. What makes this hotel worth remembering are the staff. We would like to specifically commend the superb service of two of the waiters/bar staff here: Ivan and Petar. |Petar and Ivan are gems. They are very friendly and the service was superb! Ivan’s customer service and attention to details are excellent and he excels definitely in the bar as we cannot forget the best Espresso Martini he did for us! We have been to hundreds of bars all over the world and this is by far the best Espresso Martini! It’s just a shame that our last two days, they ran out of cream so we have to change our cocktail orders; it’s good that all the cocktails he prepared for us are amazing! |Petar excels also in customer serviced skills. He’s got a positive attitude and the ability to multi-task like Ivan. His communication and problem-solving skills are one of the best we have experienced and very commendable! I will never forget also the staff’s remembering my special birthday! That was awesome and I am really grateful! Both Ivan and Petar’s skills, attitude, and knowledge are unbelievable at times. Both are very polite, personable calm, and have impressive manners which we cannot fault! As we spent most of our days and evenings in the lounge, bar and restaurant - I would say our days and evenings are worth remembering because of the staff excellent service. The waitresses, chefs and housekeeping around were also personable and helpful whenever we asked for something. So in summary- we cannot fault the customer service here!||You cannot fault the food here also. The breakfast was superb. The fine dining was amazing as well as the buffet. We enjoyed all our food and the prices are very reasonable and worth paying.||We also enjoyed our time in the spa, pool, sauna and gym as it was very quiet during that week. |Speaking of Spa, we would also like to mention the amazing therapists and masseur in the Fontana Wellness Spa. We had an Elemis facial treatment and it was amazing! Ivana and Marina were very professional and they were really good and they know what they are doing! The very personable therapist/receptionist there (I cannot remember the name sorry! With curly hair) - she was amazing in customer service. Her name might be Marina but I’m not sure. They were all wonderful.The masseur, Mladen was one of the best masseurs we have ever met. He knows his job extremely well. The massage was the best ever we have experienced; and we felt revived and refreshed, and stress-free after the sessions!||Lastly, Tom, who was in charged of our transfer from and to the hotel and airport was a total life saver!!! He helped us (along with the hotel staff) when we forgot our bag at the reception! He was the best!! A total gentleman and extremely kind person. Please extend our heartfelt gratitude to him. We will not forget how he helped us during that stressful time. What a great guy!!||All in all- our experience in Baska Voda was extremely memorable because mostly of the staff. Read moreFabulous hotel in the very pretty Baska Voda. Hotel is right on the front with views of the harbour and sea. Such an excellent location, can walk left out of the hotel to Makarska, such a beautiful walk along the pathways on the seafront and to Brela and beyond on the right. Perfect location!|We had a standard room ( only rooms left) but our room like the rest of the hotel was exceptionally clean, of a really good size, great shower ( always very hot water) and plenty of storage. The room had a fridge, hairdryer, kettle for coffee/tea ( replenished daily) along with a coffee pod machine providing 2 pods thereafter I think you had to purchase them. Not a problem for us as I always take my own tea and coffee. Housekeeping did an excellent job daily. |The bed and pillows were the most comfiest we have had anywhere we have travelled, just divine! |Breakfast provided an excellent selection of hot/cold foods, everything you could wish for with some lovely breads. We booked half board, the choices and cooking were better some nights than others but we always found something to eat. Plenty of restaurants on the doorstep to choose from if you wish to eat out. A bottle of wine, cocktails and all drinks were very reasonably priced in fact we didn’t drink anywhere else every evening. Big shout out to all the fabulous staff who served us at breakfast and dinner especially Kristina in the restaurant and Ivan who made the most excellent cocktails! |All staff throughout the hotel were very welcoming, very friendly and we couldn’t have received better service. Read moreUnhygienic!! Arrived on 24th. We had booked via a third party. So not accepting a great room, Standard double This was my 60th birthday treat. Few weeks earlier , GHS you can check my details . I could have cried when I saw the shoe box we had been given I didn’t want to upset my husband so didn’t make a fuss. I noticed as were unpacking an unpleasant smell in the room . It’s then I saw all the stains, of various colours on the carpet. All over the room . I went to reception and ask for the carpet to be cleaned. I showed the photos and was assured it would be sorted ASAP. It wasn’t So we had to sleep in the smelly room . We had informed the Hotel prior to arrival I would need a quote room in order to sleep several times a day due to a medical condition. I had also enquired about disabled parking. Luckily there is a spot , not the hotels, that we were able to use . Next morning be for going out I asked again for the carpet to be cleaned. We were told we would be moved. On our return at lunch time. A new room was not ready so again I had to sleep in the smelly room. Finally the change of shift reception organised a new room. We were told I could not accept a bigger room as a Standard double. The very small rooms at the back of the hotel was what we had booked. This is fine, I just wanted a clean room. We were given a bigger room . The cleaning staff were very Slap Dash. Glass from bar not taken away, toilet not cleaned. And the TV remote had years of dirt and muck on . A unforgettable stay.
