Classic hostel with only a few rooms and a great common area to relax, grab something to drink at the bar or to easily cook your food at. Great service and hospitality. They offer you a ride to the beach which is an ok walk down but to get up again can be a struggle if you're not used stairs or walking uphill. Bring water! ||Grocery store is close but make sure there is space in the fridge before you buy too much stuff. ||The bar is great, and cheap too! A bunch of locals comes to the bar later in the evening to hang out so you'll have a great opportunity to party like a local. The bus station is also close, and it's easy to find the hostel which is located right by the main road.||Common room and dorms are clean. The toilets might need to be checked more often by the staff or volunteers. ||AC in the room made this stay GOLDEN. With the heat wave we had, the AC made you want to stay in bed all day long. You can take a nice long evening walk down to the next village Baska Voda which has a better night life than Brela. But Brela definitely has the most beautiful beaches, day and night, and if you're lucky you can even find a spot away from the crowds. ||Anyway, if you're in the Makarska Riviera and looking for a cheap place to stay, this is a great hostel with heart and soul, really good service and aloha spirit! Hope to pay this hostel a...
Read morecasa hostel vecchia is seriously the best hostel that i've visited so far. the accomodation is simple, a few dorm rooms with either 8 beds or single rooms, depends what you prefer. price for a night is about 15 euros for the 8bed rooms. the bathroom is ok, clean toilets and showers. the staff is great, they are extremely friendly and helpful. there is a bus shuttle to the beach therefore no more climbing down the steep stairway! there is wifi for free (even though a bit laggy sometimes). casa vecchia is the perfect hostel for you if you're young and outgoing. the bar inside the hostel is always packed with locals and hostel visitors. beer price at the bar is very cheap, 12 kuna for a stubbie. plenty of space to play any kinda bar game you want. highlight: booze cruise!! once a week the dudes arrange a booze cruise, where you ship around and drink....
Read moreI stayed in Casa Vecchia during August, and had an amazing time there. From the extra friendly service from the staff (Greg, Steve and Anna) and the beautiful location in a wonderful small beach town of Brela. I can only say good things about this hostel. The staff make you feel at home, and associate with all the guests. They have a decent sized kitchen, clean bathrooms, comfortable beds, a bbq and a really cool electronic dartboard! They have an open air bar which you can sit and admire the beauty of the Adriatic Sea and scattered Croatian islands in the distance. It's a short walk down to the lush beaches of Brela, where there are lots of bars and places to eat along the waterfront.||I'm sure if you stop here for one night, you will want to stay for a week! ||||Thanks...
