Our rooms were actually quite modern, with AC and a nice shower (most positive part of our whole experience here). But this hotel seems to be ran by enormous cheapskates, because the breakfast food is bland, lifeless, unappetizing and just looks cheap. The coffee in the restaurant is this awful freeze-dried gunk and the restaurant looks like a 1980s military soup kitchen. Ok, 1990s maybe. Except for the receptionist and the cleaning crew who were friendly and actually say “hello” when you encounter them, all personnel walks around like zombies, no one seems to speak any other language than Croatian, and so they seem to be afraid to walk up to guests on the terrace to take an order, no one looks you in the eye or greets the guests and when you say something in English or German, they give you a dazed look, and they continue shoving trays and trays of bland food onto the buffet. On our first night after arriving, we were tempted to use the dinner buffet but that was the same level. Oh and water is free but if you want to use “fruit juices” (cheap lemonade from a machine), you pay extra.
The rooms have AC’s but they turn off the second you open the balcony door, and they also turn off after 2 hours automatically. It was 30-35 degrees last week so at night it is still hot as hell, also in the rooms. So we woke up sweating and having to turn on the AC again every two hours. So much for a good night rest. Look, I get that the AC doesn’t make sense if you leave the balcony door open, but does it have to turn off the second you open it to hang some swimming clothes to dry? All this just feels cheap. Oh and all the while, the AC in the hallway right outside our room keeps humming all day and night.
The hotel has private parking spaces, about 50m uphill, which is fine, but they look like dumps, with uneven terrain, large rocks, no clear parking spots, so it gets messy and difficult to park when it’s crowded. For 4 stars, at least level the terrain and make it look tidy.
I will steal a quote I saw in another review of this hotel: this is a 2 star hotel pretending...
Read moreI was on a eight day holiday with Newmarket holidays to Dubrovnik, Montenegro & the Dalmatian coast, staying for three nights at the hotel Bella Vista, the hotel is in the small town of Drvenik set in a lovely location only a short stroll to a pebble beach, the season had not yet started when we stayed but you could imagine it would be perfect when all the amenities and huts selling food and drinks were open.|We were the only group staying at the hotel, I had a lovely spacious room with comfortable beds and balcony, bathroom was clean with shower, everything I needed for my stay, but no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful and excellent housekeeping throughout the hotel, breakfast and evening meal was buffet style the food was delicious with plenty to choose from, we were allocated tables in the corner of the restaurant sometimes this was awkward to get in and out carrying food as the chairs were large and heavy and took up a lot of room.|Guide Evan looked after us on this trip along with our various drivers we had lots of interesting information given to us throughout and from this hotel we visited Split, Trogir, Krka National Park, the local guides that took us around gave us lots of information and free time was just right to look around the areas yourself perfect itinerary throughout the tours.|We also had the pleasure of Tom and Justin the film crew who came along each day to video our holiday experience for Newmarket holidays.|I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday to Croatia and as a solo traveller the hotel accommodation and itinerary and guides were excellent, good crowd on the coach fellow travellers which made the holiday extra special, would definitely recommend...
Read moreAbsolutely loved our stay at Bella Vista in Drvenik!
We had an amazing time at Hotel Bella Vista! The food was honestly fantastic, every meal was delicious and freshly made. The service from the staff was outstanding and kind, helpful, and professional throughout our stay.
The rooms were clean, fresh, and recently renovated, which made everything feel really comfortable. It’s also super family-friendly, our kids loved every moment, and so did we.
The location couldn’t be better it’s literally just 30-40 meters from the beach. The water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming. We spent hours just relaxing and enjoying the sea.
A special mention to the hotel owner as well, such great hospitality. He personally helped us find nearby sights and made sure we had everything we needed.
We truly felt at home here. This place exceeded all our expectations, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Can highly recommend it to anyone visiting the...
