Villa Stanger is situated in the centre of the busy seaside town of Lovran. It is a 5 minute walk downhill to the sea. Most of the rooms have balconies with a sea view. Our room was clean and comfortable with a small en-suite. The shower, whilst not luxurious, was very good. The bed was comfortable and the room had air conditioning. There was a fridge in the room, but, as is the case with many Croatian hotel rooms - no tea and coffee making facilities. The decor is dated but this wasn't an issue for us. There is room to park your car. The breakfast can only be described as basic. Our room only cost about £42. Amazing value - and the reason we chose it. Given the budget nature of the accom we really feel it was a good choice. Lovran has plenty of places to eat and drink. There is a really nice little cocktail bar right down on the harbour front. There are places to access the sea for a swim from the rocky coast. There is a much bigger beach at Medveja (a 5 min drive to the south) and Icici and Opatija are a short drive to the North. The Ucka national park is just inland from the town. There is a pleasant coast path running from Lovran to Opatija. Pula airport is a 75 min drive away. We flew to Pula and then used Villa Stanger as an overnight stop over on our way to Zagreb and Plitvice. We were very happy...
Read moreMy hostess was a joy to meet. Bravo 🌟 She was so sweet and kind to me! Still professional with hospitality and dependable. My room was clean, and functional, also a bit cozy. The location was nice just a short beautiful walk down hill into the water. The coast is mostly concrete with steps into the water. On the way to swim you might find a tiny local farmers market square. It has a tiny fisherman's corner planked by a tiny flower shop. Caddy corner a few places to get a drink or bit to eat. This square also has a little grocery market next to the butchers. It felt like community. . . Lovely stay...
Read moreWe stayed in one of the rooms, not in an apartment. The room had nice sea-view, the furnitures were basic, the bed a little bit uncomfy, but for a few nights it was all right. The bathroom is the tiniest I've ever seen, but it had everything you need. Breakfast was basic, the hosts are amongst the unsmiley ones.. The picture is of the view...
