Blue Waves Resort — Hotel in Općina Malinska-Dubašnica

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, two pools, sunbeds on the beach free of charge, and even in the high season there was always space. The hotel is located right on the beach, with a few restaurants nearby and clean water. Ideal for families with children, everything is close by. The only downside was that breakfast was quite crowded, and it was difficult to find a table for six people. I would suggest extending the breakfast hours so the number of guests spreads out better. Communication with the hotel was excellent – they arranged airport transfer for us, including child seats. I also appreciated that on the day of departure we were allowed to stay in the room two hours longer. The only thing missing was the option to buy bottled water at the hotel; the nearest shop was 900 meters away, and without a car it was quite difficult to carry water back to the room. Blue Waves is a beautiful resort located right next to the beach. As a guest, you can use loungers, umbrellas and coffee tables for free conveniently right by the water. Staff is friendly and always ready to help, say hello and smile. It was refreshing seeing that level of good customer service. Breakfast buffet is big with options to satisfy even the pickiest eaters; fruit, pastries, bread, omelets, fried and scrambled eggs, cooked meats, cold cuts, cheese, vegetables., granola, yogurt, coffee, tea.... What I did not like was the confusing pathways leading from one building to another as it was hard to figure out at first. It is hard to get a whole picture of the hotel - as for example, the kind of labyrinth it is is certainly a mistake made at the construction. So many stairs and so many spaces unused. But one thing is sure: they have the nicest hotel manager. I had a slight disappointment and he happened to be just there. The way he treated this problem was just perfect, he made me/us feel important and he also took my disappointment seriously. And he is a nice person, smiling and caring.
