An Exceptional Stay with Outstanding Hospitality

Mario proved to be an extraordinary host at a truly remarkable property. From the moment we arrived, his attention to detail was evident—he accommodated our flexible check-in needs and welcomed us with a thoughtfully curated local charcuterie board. His introduction to the wine cellar and honor-system pantry immediately set the tone for the trust and hospitality that defined our entire stay.

Mario took genuine care in walking us through all the property's amenities, but the highlight was when he scheduled a special evening to prepare an authentic local cuisine dinner cooked over an outdoor fire. This wasn't just a meal—it was one of our most memorable dining experiences in all of Croatia, showcasing both his culinary skills and dedication to creating unique guest experiences.

Throughout our stay, Mario's responsiveness was impeccable. Whether we needed additional towels or assistance with the hot tub heater, he was always just a message away and arrived promptly to help.

The property itself is stunning--which he built himself over the past decade. The indoor spaces are beautifully decorated, spacious, and flooded with natural light, while the outdoor areas are nothing short of spectacular. The heated pool and covered dining area created the perfect setting for relaxation, and the herb garden available for guest use was a delightful touch that enhanced our culinary adventures.

The location couldn't have been better—trips into Split were incredibly convenient, while we enjoyed the tranquility of being just a 10-minute walk from a beautiful beach and a wonderful beachfront restaurant and bar. This perfect balance of accessibility and serenity made the property ideal for both exploration and relaxation.

This was our second stay at Villa Praska having stayed before in 2023 and just like the first time around, it was absolutely fantastic in all ways.

The owners Mario and Tihana are wonderful hosts who have created not just a beautiful villa, but also a lovely, friendly, warm vibe - from the welcome pack of excellent local figs, charcuterie and cheeses through to the incredible (and extremely generous!) traditional Peka meat and fresh fish dishes cooked over fire in the amazing outdoor BBQ by Mario himself - fantastic (we have had this twice now!). Nothing is too much trouble.

The villa itself is impeccable, super spacious, beautifully equipped with a lovely outdoor space and pool plus a hot tub and sauna. The walk-in cupboard of wine, beers and local produce is also a brilliant addition.

The location is excellent with a couple of great Croatian restaurants in the old part of Podstrana up in the hills and Split is only a taxi journey away. It's only a short walk to the beach where there are some great beachfront cafes and a beautiful sea.

All in all - another wonderful trip - we will be back for a third time for sure.

A stunning villa, beautifully designed and decorated with luxurious finishing touches. We loved staying here, everything was so comfortable and easy to use, we relaxed in the wonderful surroundings. The house has great facilities, from the pool, bbq and herb garden, to great cooking facilities, huge tv and decadent lounge, beautiful bathrooms and elegant bedrooms. The owners are welcoming and thoughtful, they looked after us so well, even providing us with delicious traditional Croatian food. They are on hand if any advice or help is required, nothing is too much trouble. They are really invested in developing the house further and enhancing the experience, we can’t wait to see how the gardens develop. The location is about 10 minutes walk from Podstrana beach, pebbled and beautiful to swim in. The area is low key and quiet, we travelled into Split to enjoy the culture and fascinating history (about 20 mins by car).
