We stayed at the hotel — two adults and two small children — for five nights. After that, we decided to extend our stay by another three nights. The extension was handled by the reception, and we paid the full amount upfront. However, when it was time to change rooms, it turned out that the hotel had booked the wrong room. Even though this was entirely the hotel's mistake, we were still forced to pay an additional amount. Had we been given the correct information from the start, we might not have extended our stay. Being charged for an error made solely by the hotel felt both unacceptable and unprofessional. The same day, the hotel offered us a complimentary dinner as compensation. When we came to dinner, the hotel’s manager, Stefano Vranješ, personally came to meet us. He handled the situation in a way that truly deserves recognition. Stefano took the time to listen, and genuinely showed a willingness to understand our concerns. We were impressed by his professional and humble approach. The hotel openly acknowledged its mistake, refunded the price difference, and even offered us an additional night free of charge — a gesture we deeply appreciated. What touched us most was the sincere care and personal attention Stefano showed. He even invited us for coffee the following morning — a small gesture that meant a lot. The way he handled the situation genuinely changed our perception. We left feeling truly valued as guests, something we are very grateful for. A heartfelt thank you to Stefano Vranješ for his time, understanding, and outstanding service. His professionalism and commitment to his guests are nothing short of exemplary.

Hotel is ok. But far from being 4 star rather 2,5 or 3, but not 4 star. Renovated rooms are fine, but facilities date back to earlier days. Service in general is ok and staff is nice and speak english. The scenery is spectacular and location great. Which makes a lot to holiday. The biggest issue though is the food and drink. If I were to judge croatian food just by this hotel, I'd be feel pity for the natives. Every menu follows the previous and the only variation if ani, is which meat has the privilege to be tasteless, over cooked (any meat without exemption, is dry) mash. The red wine offered, should be used as venegar rather than drink. At breakfast only fresh vegetables offered are some tomatoes. (And that day in and out.) Once reaching half of your vacation, you'll be full of the menu. The service during lunch and especially during dinner also leaves one pray for better days. The restaurant is seemingly under staffed. Receiving your drinks takes really loooong time. -And don't even dream about any refill... Beach towels can be "rented" from the hotel for price of 100HRK/towel, which will be refunded upon return. Bear in mind that guests use their towels to reserve sun beds, so if you want to secure your own, be fast. All in all there are quite a few rules at pool area (no reserving of sun beds, etc.), but none are obeyed nor enforced. Pool for toddlers seems to be sufficient, only that it is not covered.

We weren't sure what to expect but had a wonderful week at the end of September, 2024. We booked with Mistral Holidays after seeing an advert in the U3A magazine. We arrived just before noon, expecting to have to wait for a room to be ready but went straight to our room. We were on the fifth floor, in a superior room, which had a sitting area and a balcony overlooking the pool and the blue Adriatic Sea. The hotel gave direct access to the pedestrianised promenade and the narrow, pebbled beach. We had half board and it was like on a cruise ship where you could have as much as you wanted of the delicious food. The soups - different each night - were super. We usually ate outdoors on the covered terrace except for one evening when there was a horrendous thunderstorm and the following morning when it was terribly windy. The indoor swimming pool was lovely and warm, as was the sauna. The member of staff doling out towels was often absent, however, so on one occasion, I rummaged in the cupboards and helped myself. The hotel can get very crowded, so we often used the stairs rather than the lift, especially going down to dinner. The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, especially an older lady named Ankica, an older gentleman whose name began with Z, and another older gentleman. I'm not being discriminatory about younger members of staff but those three stood out.

Let’s start off with the good - there’s a pool which is hard to find in this area. Any resort with a pool, you will be paying premium price and I would say this is more on the affordable side. Still not “budget” friendly. Now let’s continue on to our arrival. First off, no parking. They advertise parking but good luck. They share parking lots with 3 other hotels and definitely not enough spaces. We saw several guests parked on the road receiving parking tickets. We have also seen several people walking from the pool/beach and leave at the end of the day. This was an every day occurrence with us having to spend up to 30 min circling waiting for someone to leave. Staff was less than willing to help us find a spot to park. Park at your own risk. Now on to check in, friendly staff! No complaints here. Got our key and went up to our room. Now the fun begins. Our room was HOT. They advertise as having AC so this seems not right, but also knowing the room was empty all day we figured it just needed to cool down. So turned on the AC and waited. Nothing happened. Ok, wait a bit longer. Still nothing, at this point our kids are miserable and overheating. We go downstairs and ask about it they state “we have AC”. So we ask them to send someone to look at it. First time, nothing is wrong. Second time, nothing is wrong. Ok so I ask for a fan, they again state they have AC so no fans. I ask again to send someone up and the 3rd time they admit the AC needs a new engine. So we go downstairs with the maintenance man and he tells them it’s broken. So we ask what can they do to help us because we will not survive the night in this room. Even with the balcony door open it’s entirely too hot. They claim they’re completely booked. I pull up booking and they still have 4 rooms available. They’re still unwilling to move us. They finally admitted to having 2 rooms that they could split our family for the evening. We took 1 and made it work for the night. After all of this, I still haven’t mentioned how dirty the room is. Spots all over the floor from spilled food/drink, hair in the bed, we won’t discuss the mold in the bathroom. We wore shoes the entire time we were in our room. You can see they’ve attempted a remodel, however it’s not done well. We have water stains on our walls, the outside of the building looks old and run down, the pillars at the pool have weeds growing out of them. Anyways, our first night we are completely starving from a long day on the road, dealing with check in and the AC we opt for the easy choice of just eating dinner at the hotel. Big mistake. Huge. I honestly feel bad for anyone who has chosen the full board option here. Just steps outside of the hotel are plenty of cheaper options even after purchasing drinks for the entire family. Which leads me to breakfast the next morning (and the next 4 after). Bland. No flavor. I’ll give it to them, they have an omelet bar and that’s ok, but beware of the dirty plates, silverware, and cups. Lastly, the pool. The pool is decent. There are actually a decent amount of chairs outside however “guests” reserve the chairs and then leave. This leaves no space for anyone who is actually wanting to be out there, have a chair. Now you might be asking why didn’t we move to a different hotel. For one, this area is booked up at this time of the year. For two, we already spent so much money, we had to deal. This was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime for us. This place advertises itself as a resort, updated and offering a full board option. We didn’t spend too much time here. We were busy spending our time exploring all of the amazing scenery and city’s around here. For the amount of money we spent here, it was not worth it. A lot of the decent reviews come from local guides. I’ll never recommend this place to anyone. I’m grateful for the pool, that’s what one of my kids wanted the most and I’m glad we had it, but this place needs some serious overhauling. All of this to say, we are not picky with hotels. However for what we paid, I...

My sister and I decided to do a little week long getaway. We attended in September 2023. Upon arrival, we weren't met with the most welcoming experience from the reception staff, despite us trying to be as friendly as possible. It felt weird straight off the bat, like they seemed okay until we spoke. We shrugged it off as we had already had a long day of travel and were tired and hungry and just wanted to get to our room to relax. I showed all our information and booking confirmation to which they said there wasn't a booking for us. It didn't seem as though they were going to do anything about it until I prompted them as I again got out all our information to show we had indeed booked a room. Our booking was through TUI, so they said they would call TUI to see what happened and that they would get back to us in 15 mins so we could go sit at the bar and wait. We said okay and went to sit down (the bar is just across from reception so we could see them, and they could see us). There was no one else at the bar. 15 minutes came and went, and the staff just seemed to be chatting to each other. No one came over to us or waved us over. We got up and went back to reception to try to find out what was going on. The guy said he found our booking but the room wasn't ready so we would have to wait another half and hour for it to be cleaned. Okay. We sat down again, this time just the other side of the double doors to the pool area so we could sit outside. Again, nothing. No staff came over. I had to go back in again to ask for an update, and the guy at the desk said, "What?" Loudly when I asked... like he had no idea what I was talking about. The woman on the phone next to him stopped and said, "Oh yeah, the rooms ready, here," and handed him the room key and card. He then told us how to find our room.We settled in and decided to relax till dinner.

The pools were good, not massive, but they weren't overly busy this time of year, so we enjoyed it. Also, there are lots of free sun-loungers and parasols any time of the day. Unfortunately, we hit some bad weather the last 3 days of our trip. Lots of wind and rain and all the excursions that we wanted to do weren't running due to lack of interest or unsafe conditions. There wasn't much to do at the hotel. Unless you went to the spa, but we didn't want to spend more money there. There wasn't any daytime entertainment, or really any evening entertainment. They played music at the pool bar. And apparently, had live music a few evenings a week, but other than that, nothing that we could find. We found a lot of the staff unfriendly. When walking through the hotel, we would step aside to let them through, or say hello or good morning, and it was met by a lot of stares and silence, followed by them talking among themselves. It felt uneasy. The only staff who actually seemed approachable were housekeeping. They always replied to us and said hello. They do a great job and seem kind. I understand that customer facing roles aren't always easy. My sister and I both work with people, but it seemed that some staff went out of their way to be rude and unwelcoming. We did some excursions through a tour guide we met on the beach, and we met some other British people from local hotels who had experienced similar attitudes from staff. A few of them said these hotels have a reputation for not liking the British. Whether that's true, I can not say, I can only speak for our experience.

Checking out was fine and easy. Just a quick transaction while we went out to wait for our transfer to the airport. Overall, the hotel and location are beautiful. The beach was right across the road, and the room was clean and quiet. But I do feel like some of the staff and lack of entertainment let it down. I don't know that I would return...

The price is just way to high for what you get. The hotel starts to look run down.

The room The double beds are not really double, but two singles with a big crack in between. The crack gets larger and larger if you try to use it as a double bed. However the airconditioning is so poor that you have to stay apart anyway. When we arrived they charged an extra 70 euro for a baby cot that looks like it was bought for 50. Their reasoning being that the two year old can sleep in the cracked double bed. This is obviously not possible, as he would in the end fall between the beds.

When we complained that the lock on the balcony door was broken, they told us that 70 percent was broken. We lived in 4th floor and our child could easily fit through the fence on the balcony. That is not taking security seriously.

They thought that three small hotel shower gel was enough for nine days. We had to use our own.

Other than that the rooms looks nice. The bathroom was clean and inviting. The single beds was comfortable enough.

The pool area The pools are nice and have a good temperature. Cooling, but not too cold. There's also plenty of pools. To get sunbeds you need to hold beds before breakfast. Good luck getting an umbrella. For some reason there was plenty of free sunbeds on Sunday. They have a no holding of sunbeds policy, but if you ask them to enforce they will just reject. My suggestion is to just do as everyone else.

Next to the playground there's an hazardous area just divided by a laid down latter.

The food The breakfast is good. The lunch and dinner buffet is mediocre. You will find something you like, but you'll probably throw away a lot. My suggestion is to take small tests. Things may look good, but are not. The pasta station was good. The restaurant has a nice outdoor area looking on the beach.

We had all inclusive. The drinks was just a cheep lokal brand. Don't expect Coca cola or Pepsi. I would skip all inclusive. The nearby restaurants have much better food, including the hotels al a cart restaurant.

The beach Beautiful and nice. Always crowded though. The hotel don't offer sun beds on the beach.

Other comments They where nice and granted our wish to stay in a room near some friends of ours.

The parkinglot was full. Had to wait 30 min to get a parking.

We did have a good time. We had good company and Makarska is nice. We just felt very disappointed of the hotel. We stayed so many better places...
