We had the pleasure of staying at this enchanting hotel nestled in the mountains, and it was truly a paradise in nature. Amazing view to the sea of Polis. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with their heartwarming hospitality. Their kindness and attentiveness made our stay exceptionally memorable. The hotel itself is a perfect blend of comfort and natural beauty. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, it offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The rooms were cozy and well-maintained, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the stunning mountain trails. The balcony was spacious and we were enjoying the breeze there at nights. Every aspect of our stay was delightful, from the delicious meals prepared with fresh, local ingredients to the charming ambiance of the common areas. Moreover the beaches in Polis were 10 minutes with the car away from the hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel enough for anyone seeking a tranquil and rejuvenating getaway. The combination of the spectacular mountain setting and the exceptional staff made my experience truly unforgettable. I will definitely be returning for another stay in this mountain paradise!

English-Unacceptable hotel. Filthy rooms, broken bathroom, ancient A/C. Balcony covered in bird droppings. The manager insulted my teenage daughter, saying if she kept eating like that, she’d become “a thousand kilos.” Disgraceful. The “all inclusive” was a scam – owners literally rationed food and dictated how much we could have. No hospitality, no respect for guests. The entire experience was frustrating and infuriating. Instead of relaxing, we were constantly stressed and offended. A toxic environment no one should have to endure. This place should be strictly avoided. Worst vacation we’ve ever had, and we travel often. Stay away from this hotel – it’s not just bad, it’s hostile and humiliating. Never again.

Before arriving at the Palates Hotel, we were told that it was family owned and that this was a good thing. I’d certainly agree that the ownership and management of a hotel has a decisive impact — unfortunately in the case of the Palates this was entirely negative.||||The hotel occupies a prime spot in the hilltop village of Droushia, with pleasant views over the north coast. It’s a modern three-storey building done in a style that’s sympathetic to its surroundings. The public parts are clean and tidy. Our double room was on the small side, but perfectly comfortable— except for the bed, which had a thin, hard mattress covered in a plasticated mattress protector. (I understand there are hygiene reasons for using plastic, but I find it sweaty and uncomfortable.)||||The small swimming pool was unheated and half in shadow for most of the day, which made it unusable, though bear in mind that this was the first few days of November.||||The hotel has a restaurant on the grounds which was only serving breakfast during our stay. Dinner was served at the hotel’s sister restaurant about 100m away in the centre of the village. Breakfast was poor. Thin, weak coffee from one of those ancient Douwe Egberts machines; no fresh orange juice; packaged sandwich bread; and ‘hot’ food pre-cooked and served in a warmer that wasn’t switched on — fine if you like cold fried eggs. The cook did make us a good sandwich for our packed lunch. Dinner was fine: good fresh salads, a tasty stifado, nice local wine. The restaurant manager was cheery, though it would have been nice if he’d been more open about what was and what wasn’t actually on the menu.||||On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by the manager with what I can only describe as antagonism. Throughout our three-day stay (on a walking tour of Cyprus with Sherpa Holidays which I can’t recommend highly enough) she remained unpleasant. It’s not that she didn’t want to help — it’s just that she did so entirely on her own terms and at her own convenience. She had no interest in what we wanted, only in what she thought we wanted. She refused to listen to what we said. She gave the impression she thought we were stupid. OK, it was the end of the season, and maybe she was fed up. But getting good service at a hotel shouldn’t have to feel like a battle. I’ve never met a hotel manager so obviously unsuited to working in the hotel business.||||So, a potentially pleasant hotel utterly...

My wife and I booked the hotel at the end of our 2 week Cyprus flit...the short distance from Polis was a nightmare drive up and down a winding road as Drousha is perched on top of a mini-mountain. It was freezing! Only the dining area was properly heated...our cramped room was cold...A N D to get to the dining area one has to leave the hotel, go out, negotiate 6 v wide steps/steep slope and cross a parking area!!! We had to do this for New Year's Eve dinner in pouring rain and in our best clothes...horrible!! Bedside light did not work...hot water was turned on every 2 hours...why??????? WI-FI was temperamental Bed was uncomfortable. There is nothing to do in Drousha...the place is d e a...
