Summary of our experience:||It’s been unacceptable service received to all passengers hosted at the hotel from British airways as been stranded since last night with plane diversion then flying back to larnaca and kept in aircraft over three hours then told to disembark not even to a local hotel but to travel all way to Nicosia an hour away despite its off season in larnaca to end up in the hotel checking in at 8:30 am.||At the hotel No breakfast offered available on arrival despite noting all night shattered up passengers , so went straight to sleep after checking in after over 24 hours up as a doctor operating all day before flying yesterday.||Then got a phone disturbance call from hotel reception at 11 am ie 2 hours later to be told if u want lunch it’s served between 1-3 pm expecting no sleep all night to run down waking me up to go to eat as if it’s school run not taking on consideration we were all physically exhausted and up all night.||Then of course had to sleep and woke up and came downstairs at 4:30 pm asking for any meals as per BA email that hotel should provide lunch and dinner which the hotel is expected and should be accommodating our circumstances not just financial benefiting hotel who clearly just did a two hour open buffet expecting people to wake up after a couple of hours who haven’t slept all night.||||The hotel now despite paid for accommodating and hosting us by BA are refusing to offer me food to us saying dinner is next still in three hours at 7 pm leaving me since arrival the night before with no food provision despite in theory hotel paid to serve two meals which must be accommodating to the passengers exceptional circumstances not the other way round!!!That’s it!!||||This is unacceptable that five stars hotel paid to host all the passengers checking in at 8:30 am after stranded all night expecting passengers to get up to go down to eat their financially convenient arranged buffet rather than what’s convenient for the guests taking in consideration the time arriving and sleep requirement.||So minimum is to allow alacarte flexible time or food upon request when we wake up not just be told sorry you missed it while they are paid for it and can’t expect to wake us up to eat then deny serving if slept expectedly.||I end up being told by a porter called George that nothing can be done and if I need food I must pay extra charge which first isn’t acceptable for a porter to handle such a decision despite asking for manager then spoke to the reception front desk lady who kept again ongoing that they need to speak to the airline which I said is unacceptable as clearly hotel is paid to accommodate passengers checking in at 8:30 am after stranded all night and been paid to provide two meals which must allow Felix itt and accommodate the passengers not the hotel to just make money by providing two hours buffet expecting us to disturb sleep after over 24 hours up and stranded and not offering food flexibly either when awake and ala carte and none also breakfast offered on arrival.||Clearly such cases hotel should provide the two meals BA paid for to accommodate the guests times and allowing time for expected sleep for the guests who have been up all night.||||Guess what it’s 6:16 pm almost 10 hours since checking in and still receptionist despite promising to get back never did and no manager available despite requested.||Indeed as a professional doctor travelling worldwide and use of 5 star hotel services this is unacceptable like school or campus care for passengers!!!||||Indeed would never come here again and poorly review it||||Dr Nataly Atalla||Executive club member||Consultant gynaecologist and senior lecturer ||London Uk...
Read moreStayed here due to our flight being cancelled and Jet2 putting us here. Hotel is lovely and the staff are mostly friendly. Room is as you would expect from Hilton and, if you're staying here for a short break rather than a lay over, there are lots of amenities and the pool area looks good.
Two things that I found irritating. Firstly, the lay over guests were treated as 'other'. The staff attempted to segregate us from other guests during the evening meal even though we were all eating from the same buffet in the same restaurant. I can't imagine why this was other than as an attempt to keep the 'riff raff' away from other guests. Breakfast was even more so with us being shepherded to a separate room. I can't comment on whether the food offer was the same for breakfast as, even though all the signage stated breakfast served until 11am, by 10:30 it was shut down for us and other guests complained about having their meals removed from them at 10 on the dot, while they were still eating. I'm sure Hilton don't treat their regular guests this way.
This leads me to my second critique. Due to this we had to pay for breakfast. €22 each to eat from a luke warm buffet. If I'd have attempted to graze this all morning it would be difficult to gain €22 value from this. This situation isn't unique to the Hilton as I have stayed in other 5* resorts that have few local amenities, that exploit the situation by grossly over charging for a relatively basic offer. After a 5 minute walk we found a few lovely cafes that offer breakfast. We had three coffees and a bottle of water for €6 and wished we'd have eaten here instead.
Summary: Grossly inflated prices probably for the dual purpose of making huge profit margins whilst also giving the illusion of exclusivity. Treat lay over guests like unwelcome refugees (unless you put your hand in your own pocket). If you don't mind paying over the odds for nice surroundings then you probably won't be disappointed if you make this your hotel of choice for your holiday however, if you prefer to get value for your money there are plenty of other places in Cyprus that are of equal quality, in better locations, at a much...
Read moreExcellent Hotel! The service was awesome, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was one of the nicest. The area that the hotel is in is not very nice to explore by foot but idea to get anywhere you would like to go Some areas of the hotel are a little dated but still very luxurious There is a small shopping center inside the hotel but don't see very many people shopping there ( I was there out of season)
Exterior and checkin: As you drive up to the hotel it really does feel very exotic, welcoming and grand. as you reach check in there are free refreshments. The check in staff were super friendly and helpful as well as giving me a great room and executive lounge access.
The room: Pretty much perfect, it had everything I would have wanted except the TV was rather old and unresponsive and the AC didn't seem to cool or heat the room (ended up opening the door a little).
The Executive lounge: This was slightly dated decor but very comfortable, with happy hour at around 6pm there is free drinks and food, including some of the local foods like sheftalia and halloumi.
Breakfast: I loved this! there was so much choice with very many local options and fresh foods. on a friday there is someone making fresh pancakes. The staff are VERY friendly and every morning there is a kitchen staff walking around with some pastry that has just come out of the oven (dashinobita for example) I would come back just for the breakfast.
Summary: I would definitely come back, the decor could do with a tiny facelift but it did not effect my...
