I have not stayed in the hotel for some years. So I cannot comment on the amenities in the rooms. However I have been dining in the restaurant section periodically, and will write my review based on that. ||The Hotel is conveniently located in the city center, and part of it is a historic building, which creates a nice front for the hotel. Originally there used to be a Russian fighter jet parked in front of the building, until it was removed to the aircraft museum some years back. The buildings are used to function as a preschool for little children until it was purchased and restored, and then turned into a hotel. ||||The food selection is colorful and will please almost every pallet. It offers steak, fish, pasta, and you can choose what site you wish to have your meal served with. I have invited my family to come and dine in with my husband and I for our last dinner together. ||||My dad ordered pork loin, with french fries. My mom ordered from the children's menu creamy pasta with chicken, but in adult size full dish. I never satisfied granny or that it also from the children's menu, the fried, breaded cutlet of chicken, with french fries and instead of ketchup she asked for mayo. My husband and I, we both ordered the chicken breast steak, with creamy spinach, served with bread basket. To wash all of that down we asked for two large jugs of water, and beer. ||||I have to say that the food served was pleasing to the eyes. And was perfectly cooked. The meet was not dry, quite the opposite. It was very juicy, and well flavored. The pastor was creamy, and well seasoned. The portion for each of the meals was very generous. Enough to satisfy the men in our party, and the most testy and unsatisfying person among us, granny. The staff was very patient, helpful, and attentive. They made a great effort to come out in to the garden periodically, to check on us, to make sure that we are not lacking anything. ||||Generally speaking the restaurant inside and out but was very clean, and beautifully furnished. The tables where glass top and had been put under large umbrellas, to shade the diners from the sun, and protect them from rain. ||||The restrooms where down stairs, but the not very conveniently located, they were clean, and easy to fine. The receptionist was friendly, and helpful. |||| The hotel is first class for a small town like this one, and would do well even if it was in a bigger town. I did stay in the hotel some years back, and will say that the rooms are well furnished, door a bit small. Most of the rooms have a small private balcony that is looking into the parking lot, and the residential neighborhood.||||I definitely recommend visiting the restaurant. And would recommend staying...
Read moreDon’t be fooled by this hotel, the photos advertise a quaint building at the front of the hotel, in reality this doesn’t appear to be in use, instead you’ll be in a knock-up at the rear. Parking abreast the hotel must be paid for but free parking is available a short walk down the road. Decor in the reception was ‘unique’. Birch branches in pots and glass sculptures, a nod to the local heritage, as well as dark black furnishings (an attempt at luxury). Overall an odd mix, not particularly tasteful. Breakfast is served til 10 but only scraps remain after 9 as replenishments of stock are scarce. Though I was amused by the green coloured ‘detox’ drink that actually tasted rather nice.
The room: Hard bed, mattress was essentially padded concrete. The sleeping experience declined further with the absence of AC; stuffy and clammy (had to dissect the bed sheets down to the duvet cover itself). The shower had a large entrance step, for those with mobility issues, this would be of concern, I consider myself quite agile but even I had a slight slip trying to escape it. The shower head itself did not remain upright, falling to belly height whenever adjusted. The room lacked amenities, there was no tea or coffee, just a moderately cool mini-fridge, though we were provided with a landline telephone, so useful! Sound quality was a problem. The intermittent sound from a neighbouring bathroom was a little disconcerting and the yapping of a chihuahua every 2 seconds was torturous to sleep...
Read moreEach hotel rises and falls on the service it provides. |Our "highlights":|Disgusting whirpool with chunks of slime and hair floating around the filters with water stench similar to one week old wet mop - when the receptionist on duty was informed she was full of Thanks but no word of apology. Considering that after us there was another couple scheduled for the wellnes (woman pregnant) I really wonder how come we were the first to complain about this a luckily we did before the pregnant woman entered that swamp.|When I brought it up the second day at the reception and noted that this is not the right way to solve this kind of issue, I was only assured the whirpool is cleaned each day (hardly!) and we can go there again free of charge (no thanks). Service at restaurant mainly very poor as well - waiting time for dessert over 20minutes and when the waiter finally came he asked if we are already finished with the main dish (after taking away the dirty dishes long time ago). And as it was already mentioned welness (massages, therapies etc..) very poor not what you value you would expect for the money. Overall I was relieved that we bought the welness package in sale for half price, because if I´d had payed twice as much I would be infuriated - like this I´m only left with...
