Very nice hotel. Recently renovated. Very friendly and helpful staff (speaking Czech, German and English), great breakfast definitely worth opting in. The rooms are a bit ascetic but comfy, power outlets could be spread out in more thought out manner (you get one by the bed so it's either charging the phone or get a bedside lamp). There was a TV in our room but internet only, there's no regular TV signal there. WiFi was OK, Netflix on laptop was working fine. There's a hair dryer in the room but not a kettle, which is minor inconvenience since there's an open kitchen on the top floor with kettle, coffee machine and supplies. There's a free parking by the hotel, but it's very small (3-4 cars) so when it's full you need to park on the other side of the stream, access via footbridge (it's still free). The hotel is located by the main street so it can be a bit noisy during the day, but in the evening it settles down. We also had a double balcony with 2 chairs and a table overlooking the street and great view of the cliff. The hotel has it's own shop on the ground floor (that doubles as a reception) and it's one of very few places in Hrensko that takes credit cards. Close to the hotel is a bus stop, ferry to Schona (and it's train station), few restaurants and tourist...
Read moreIn a town where the worst elements of tourism are on display Hotel Kotva is a beacon of care and friendless. The bland exterior of the hotel belies the wonderful spacious and spotlessly clean rooms on offer. The owner is extremely friendly and welcoming. The best part of the stay was the wonderful breakfast offering. Plenty of variety and as much as you can eat. And all presented with care and an eye to detail. I have to admit this surprised me. Another nice touch was that you were welcome to make tee or coffee as required over the day. |If it wasn't for Hotel Kotva I'd have little positive to say about Hřensko. Hřensko offers a very poor quality tourist experience with few redeeming features other than the wonderful surrounding...
Read moreThe first impression was rather mixed feelings as the "reception" is in the market directly at the bottom of the building. Owner is nice and straight forward :). The rooms look pretty much brand new, with huge bed and really nice and clean bathroom. The matres could be more stiff for our taste, but it was completely fine. We had room with view over the river to the huge rock. Through day there was a little noise from the street but nothing really disturbing. Breakfast were really great, we were a little bit surprised with such variety of choices and everything was fresh and tasty. Parking is possible directly next to the building so its perfect place to start hiking trip to the...
