The hotel is located in busy street but it becomes very quiet at night after all tourists left the village. The room we rent is on highest floor and at the corner. You needed to climb the stairs with the luggage. We knew beforehand so it was fine for us but if you need elevator, make sure you know about this before book it. The room is clean, spacious and got what we need. We stayed there only a night to hike around the area so it was perfect. The hotel offered free parking so it was convenient for us to start our hike from the hotel. The staffs didn’t speak much English but we there is document in English so there is a paper explain English so you are able to ask for additional breakfast.

The iconic building of the Hotel Labe, which appears on most of the photos of Hřensko, stands at the western end of the village, just off the E3 road from Děčín to Bad Schandau, only half a kilometer from the state border. The hotel offers accommodation in rooms standard equipped with private bathroom and satellite TV. The hotel also has a restaurant with summer terrace and parking - both for hotel guests only. The price for one night accommodation is 600 CZK per person, for children from 3 to 10 years in half, for pets there is an extra fee of 50 for small and CZK 100 for big breeds.

It's pretty old-fashioned and there's more than a whiff of faded splendour about it but it's in a fantastic location, the rooms are nice (and scrupulously clean) and the owners are lovely. What more could you want? (Also, the breakfasts are brilliant and there's parking right outside.)

Three stars? When we saw all the hair left on the bathroom/toilet floor as souvenir from previous guests, and noticed the oily hair smell on the pillows and the cigarette stench that could not be remedied even by opening all four windows, we ran downstairs to try to get our money back. Luckily, the German lady who helped the non-English-speaking Czech owner agreed to return our money (you need to talk to her in German, nobody speaks English up there). However, while we were gathering our stuff (I had unpacked my laptop to check if there was at least some Internet connection - none, of course), the owner and another young man rushed into our room after a brief knock and twirled around the room grumbling lowly, demanding, we assumed, why we did not want the room. In the end, he grumbled some more, and ripped us off pettily and spitefully by deducting 80 crown for having to "re-make the room", because one of us had washed his hands and used the soap and towel once. We were a bit scared all along because the owner has a big German shepherd dog which follows him everywhere - it was not aggressive to us, but could potentially be. If you decide to stay anyway, keep in mind that German cargo trains chug along the other side of the river every half an hour or so, also during the night, I presume, so you may not sleep well, especially if it's warm outside and you need to keep the windows open. In short, STAY AWAY...

We stayed in Hotel Labe during our trip to České Švýcarsko. We reserved it through www.ceskosaske-svycarsko.cz. Our room was for three people (one single bed and one "king" made up of two single beds + huge bathroom) on the third floor of the hotel (no elevator). The beds were rather hard but we didn't really care after an entire day of hiking. The towels were on a thinner side and were never changed but that was OK, too. The room was never cleaned and that was a little annoying since we tracked all the mud from our hikes to the room. ||Since Hřensko is a village at the Czech-German border, Germans are the main tourist population, other-language speaking people (other than Czech) are very few and far between so there is really a language barrier if you don't know any Czech/German. We were extremely lucky that a waiter who worked at the hotel Labe restaurant spoke a couple of words in English - so we understood that they needed our passports and he was able to explain how the whole lock-the-hotel-with-your-key system worked.||Despite all the little annoyances, the hotel location makes it really great. It is central to at least three different hikes that will take your breath away and it is cheaper than Hotel Praha located...

Wir bekommen Zimmer 33, also 3. Stock.
