I stayed recently in the Hotel Mrazek while on a business trip to Pardubice. This is a very small hotel, just 5 rooms, and is on the second floor above street level in a corner building near the town square. Before my arrival date I received an email from Martin Langr, manager of the hotel, with information on how to access the room. There is not a full-time receptionist, but when I arrived Martin was there and helped me get settled.||||The rooms are very simple - mine had three twin beds with a rather thin mattress and a duvet. The bathroom (en suite) was tiny and the sink was located in a corner, with the mirror also near the corner, making it difficult to apply make-up. There was a bottle of shower gel that had very little gel left in it, and a single roll of toilet tissue, but no facial tissue. Supplies were replenished upon request.||||The hotel has a very nice common area where breakfast is served, and instant coffee and tea are available there at all hours. The common room is very bright and cheerful in the morning. The breakfast (not included in my room rate) was modest but good. It was traditional European fare - meat, cheese, rolls, tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, cereal, yogurt. It was all very fresh. ||||The hotel does not take credit cards, so be prepared to have Czech crowns to pay. Martin was very helpful with this. When I did not have enough crowns to pay (I had forgotten about the hotel not taking credit cards), he accepted payment in U.S. dollars. He helped me get my luggage up and down the stairs (no elevator), and was willing to let me leave my bag on my departure day to be picked up after lunch, though in the end I did not need to do this.||||The hotel has free wireless available, and its speed was acceptable.||||After my first night I was not sure I would stay at the Hotel Mrazek again, but Martin was so welcoming and helpful, and the location so convenient to the town square and the University, that I would not mind staying there again. It is not a luxurious property, but it was a very good value for the...
Read more😊: Communication (Whatsapp) with Martin was absolutely amazing. Also, everything that is crucial was great; clean bed linnen, clean towels, safe street. It is significantly cheaper than other hotels in the city, and still very central. I have stayed worse in cheaper cities for more.. 😢: This is not a fancy experience, more like living at a privately rented property than a hotel. Also, the beds are simple, there is a slight musky smell in the building and the floor boards were creaking like crazy. There were some spots in the corners that could use some more cleaning and the door could have a mote secure lock. But, this...
