Breakfast: ALL the butter were expired (18.3.25). Old vegetable and fruit No milk. Ordered two long coffees with milk, and received 2 cappuccinos. Small choice breakfast. Unfriendly hotel personal. Kicking us out from breakfast at 9:41 (breakfast is from 8h to 10h) The 3rd day: we came at 9:20 to the dining room for the breakfast and there were two dirty free tables, and all the other free tables were full with dirty dishes. The two waitresses were behind the bar, chatting. At the breakfast table, there was no more fruit, no more clean plates, no more scrambled eggs. We ordered two lungos with milk, and we got again two cappuccinos. To my complaint the waitress simply replied "yes, it is a lungo with a little bit of too much milk..."

The Hořec is definitely or of the better places in Pec. After a while the quaint 18th century log cabin inns and pensions with their low ceilings get old, and if you don't want the 1980s Horizont highrise, here is a stately Art Nouveau building, tastefully renovated, with a nice restaurant, parking on two sides, etc.||The rooms range from tiny to very spacious bordering on non-cozy. But everything is clean and evidently not renovated on a rock-bottom budget.||The restaurant could use a little more customer comfort, though. The food is good and the staff quite nice, but the place is deathly quiet. If you are dining alone, that gets overly boring in no time. If management is reading, consider putting on some late 19th century classical music to go with the architecture. ...

As I've written before, there are a few things any hotel should do well; the bed needs to be comfortable, the shower needs to be good, it needs to be quiet at night. In addition, we parked right outside the ski room; the ski bus stopped across the road; the restaurant was excellent. The only fault was breakfast; we were a little late (09:25) and there was little food left. The coffee was machine / instant, which is something I hate.
