We have chosen this hotel mostly due to location, as there is no wide selection of hotels in 8th district of Prague ;). First thing to check carefully if travelling by car is how to get there. Our navi system (VW) could not find this house number and consequently we had some problems with finding the hotel. Location is a bit tricky so please check it before your travel. Hotel Jerabek is a family owned hotel, located at quite busy street with trams, therefore may be a bit noisy. Underground station is in a walking distance from the hotel ca. 7-10 min. Staff in the hotel is generally friendly , however they refused to offer us a meal in restaurant at 21:40. (what is anyway quite typical service level for Prague, from our experience...). Breakfast was rather poor, variety of dishes limited and lack of ANY vegetable... Cleanliness and condition of premises in Hotel Jerabek could generally be beter. Totally unacceptable was huge spot of mold on the ceiling over the shower (see pictures). It was dropping on our heads during taking shower..... Quite disgusting..... I would expect from the hotel manager to fix it before the room is rent to the next guest. But looked like the mold was fertilized...

A friend sorted it out for me and I trekked out to the unfashionable Libeň area (north-east of city centre) not sure what to expect. Was welcomed by friendly receptionist who was very helpful and pleasant throughout my stay -- what a difference this makes. Room was basic but clean and comfortable, and quiet too. I slept well in one of the three beds available. Bathroom, like the bedroom, was like something from the 1970s but all facilities worked fine. Not many folk seemed to be staying on this Saturday night at the height of the season, but Jerabek deserves to be better known and to rise up the Tripadvisor rankings. Breakfast was much better than the kind of fare provided at much fancier and more expensive lodgings (fresh bananas, always a major plus for me). Receptionist dude offered to make me eggs -- quickly rustled up a ham omelette that hit the spot. I would look no further if staying here again in Prague again in future. Departure was very straightforward (I lingered till just after noon). There is a tram stop about four minutes' walk from the front door and this connects quickly with the rest of the public...
Read moreGot an amazing deal at this hotel and was very happy when we got there. Rooms are basic, but spacious. Shower works well and it was very clean. Unfortunately we were in Prague during really hot weather and this is where the problem started. Because it was so hot and there was no aircon (understandable at the price.....) we had to leave the windows open to keep the room at a decent temperature. Outside the hotel there is a tram line, a railway line, the ring road fly-over and two roads which join together, partly on cobbles! As one might imagine, it was somewhat noisy; partly solved this through ear plugs, but still not quiet..... None of this is the fault of the hotel at all; however, my only complaint about the rooms is that the bed is like rock. A dreadful night's sleep followed.......||I would have no hesitation in recommending the Jerabek during cooler weather as the price is excellent, the staff friendly and the breakfast acceptable. However, I could not and would not recommend to anyone during summer...
