Hotel PEKO*** garni — Hotel in Prague

I booked 2 evenings in late July some months in advance. Originally I wasn't sure if my booking had gone through as there was an error on the webpage, but a quick email (in English) confirmed that I had reserved those dates.||||A few days before arriving I asked it they had a space if I visited a day earlier and they very quickly came back to me to say they had. This kind of speedy and pleasant response is definitely not the norm in the Czech Republic and especially not in Prague.||||The room itself was a twin bed with a TV (only 2 English channels, CNN and Sky News), Radio Alarm Clock, Fridge and 2 cooking hobs in case you wanted to cook food in the room as well as the expected bathroom with shower and toilet. In the room there was plenty of storage for clothes and the like, as well as a small safe (no extra charge).||||The bed was comfortable and the level of cleanliness was excellent. ||||Breakfast was basic with mainly cold foods such as bread, cheese, hams and some pastries, though there was also some small frankfurter-type sausages and scrambled egg. For me that was perfectly acceptable.||||The service on site was warm and welcoming, a real change from the usual unsmiling and unfriendly Czech approach to customer service.||||One potential downside is that it's about 3m/5km from the centre of Prague, so it's not a walk home after a day sightseeing. That said there is a No.11 tram that is about 200m away and that takes you straight to the centre (Muzeum) and runs every 15 or so minutes.||||Overall, especially for the price of circa £30 per night, I would highly recommend this as a base for your...

Decent hotel if you're not picky. Pros: Room was clean and the bed clothes are good quality. Bed mattress also really good. Room had fridge, hair dryer,big wardrobe and desk. Fast WiFi and 5G routers. Air-conditioning. Quiet place.

Cons: Did not have hot water for shower after 22:00 however in the next morning it was really hot, 09:00. When doing check in had to pay some tourist fee, per each day of the stay and after 21:00 they have a 250kc fee for late check-in. Couple of broken handle on the doors.

It says in the description that it has free parking, however is only a 5 car parking,so in the day we arrived there was one spot and the next day was full, so you can only park there if possible and available spots, however they advertise it as if there is always free spots and this...

Auf unserer kleinen Rundreise haben wir zwei Nächte im Hotel Peko gewohnt. Es handelt sich um kleines Hotel, das von den Eigentümern selbst liebevoll gepflegt wird. Der Haupteingang liegt an einer schmalen Nebenstraße in einem Wohngebiet. Rechts um die Ecke befindet sich die Zufahrt zum Parkplatz mit verschließbarem Tor, wo ca. 5 Fahrzeuge geparkt werden können. Vom Parkplatz gelangt man über einige Stufen zu einer tiefer gelegenen Terrasse zur Rezeption. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Unser Zimmer war relativ groß mit 2 Betten, Kochnische, Schreibtisch, Sessel. Das Badezimmer verfügte über eine Dusche und WC. Shampooproben und Seifenspender sind vorhanden. Einziges kleines Manko war, dass der WC-Sitz nicht ordentlich fixiert werden konnte. Es gibt ausreichende Ablage und Aufhängemöglichkeiten im Zimmer. Der Schlafkomfort der Betten war sehr gut, nachts konnte man gut und recht ruhig bei gekipptem Fenster schlafen. Die Einrichtung ist gediegen in Kirschholz und Grüntönen gehalten. Das Frühstück wird im Bereich des kleinen Wintergartens/Terrasse angeboten. Es ist überschaubar, bietet aber genügend Auswahlmöglichkeiten für den süßen oder herzhaften Hunger. Vom Hotel aus gelangt man über die nahe gelegene Bus-/Straßenbahnhaltestelle zügig ins Zentrum zum Wenzelsplatz. Von dort aus kann man eigentlich alles in Prag gut zu Fuß erreichen. Abends haben wir uns im nahe gelegenen Kaufland-Supermarkt frische Pizza (ca. 10 €, allerdings nur Barzahlung in CZK) geholt. Hier bekommt man auch am Zeitungskiosk Bustickets, wobei man hier in Euro zahlen und als Wechselgeld CZK bekommen kann. ||Für eine Autorundreise, bei der man nicht die überteuerten Parkplätze in der Innenstadt bezahlen möchte, ist dieses Hotel ideal und es bietet ein sehr gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.
