Upon arriving at the hotel, we were immediately disappointed. It looked nothing like the pictures shown online. Although we received instructions for self check-in, which was somewhat convenient, it felt more like an Airbnb than a hotel or hostel experience. Typically, you would expect to speak with someone upon arrival, especially to address any questions or concerns.
While we were aware of the shared bathroom situation, the bathroom located downstairs was extremely dirty. It was unclear if it was ever being cleaned. Unfortunately, we didn’t take any pictures due to our exhaustion from traveling. To make matters worse, the noise from outside was constantly disruptive, and we could also hear every sound from the neighboring rooms.
We visited during the summer, and the room was unbearably hot with no proper ventilation. There was no air conditioning or even a fan, making it very uncomfortable.
The only positive aspect of this place is the location. It’s conveniently close to shopping areas and the harbor, so it’s easy to travel back to the port when leaving the island.
The person who served us breakfast, who we believe is also the owner or receptionist, seemed friendly but gave off a somewhat sketchy vibe. We encountered a major issue when trying to get a refund for the nights we didn’t use. We had booked and paid for five nights but only stayed for one, as we moved to an apartment in Nexø to be closer to a friend. The owner insisted that our booking was non-refundable and told us to contact booking.com for the refund. However, we had booked through Agoda, a partner of booking.com, and Agoda directed us back to the hotel for the refund. Both the hotel and Agoda kept passing the responsibility back and forth, and in the end, we just gave up.
This experience has taught us never to book a cheap hotel again without thoroughly reading reviews. We should have paid more attention to the warnings from other guests. While we understand that the hotel has a non-refundable policy, it feels like a tactic to trap guests into paying for a subpar stay. The place is far from what you would expect from a hotel; it’s more like a hostel.
We do not recommend this hotel at all. Save yourself the trouble and...

I am not sure about other rooms, but it was EXTREMELY loud in the room we were staying in. Not light music with bar chatter or "noisy" as stated on the description. It was very loud and headache inducing even with ear plugs. ||||2. Credit Card Sescurity ||Our credit card details (full number and CCV code) were written on a piece of paper and left out in the lobby with a key on top along with every other guest's credit card information. Because we can have no idea who else now has this information now we had to reorder a new card.||||3. Luggage Drop Off||After staying 2 nights we left our luggage to be picked up. When returning at the agreed time. The owners were not present and did not respond to both of their phone numbers. We had to contact the restaurant (not part of hotel) next door and beg them to let us into the hotel to get our bag so as to not miss our departing ferry. They just happen to have an emergency key. Very unpleasant. ||||4. Moldy Juice containers. ||The juice containers for the breakfast both had significant amounts of black mold growing on the cork tops. Should be replaced immediately. ||||Positives: ||||1. Clean rooms. Rooms were clean. ||2. Beds were comfortable. ||3. Breakfast, aside from mold, tasted ok. ||4. Location was good aside from very loud music at night. ||||Probably would not recommend unless owners fix issues stated above, which are very...
Read moreMost people would not consider this a hotel. It is a house with six bedrooms sharing one bathroom and another bath room in an annex. There is no reception or personel, you obtain a key from a box at tge front door. The television has no channels and relies on channels provided by your phone. All rooms are up steep stairs. Some furniture was hand made from chipboard but on the positive side the beds were comfortable, the room was clean and the 'hotel" is well situated. The term basic or bohemian is properly applicable depending on your point of view.|The host is pleasant and offers breakfast in the next door cafe. It is served to your table in the manner of a British afternoon tea. That is you're given a cup of tea or coffee, a glass of fruit juice and a two tiered plate containing meats and cheese and apparently of bread. Modest but...
