Landal Fyrklit — Hotel in Hjørring Municipality

Pros: Location is fantastic. Short walk to lighthouse and town is nice.

Cons: Room amenities is basic and vary by unit. In our group of 15 rooms, some bathrooms are remodeled while some are older with consistent sewage smell. Only 1 out of our room block has a microwave, and 2 has blackout shades (Sun shines through from 4am to 10pm in summer time.). Shower time is a sauna as the bathroom does not have a fan (supposedly linked to the weak kitchen fan.) The partition does not go all the way down to the floor so it's wet everywhere after a shower.

The complex was sold out during the week we stayed and it was stressful to score a laundry time slot - The sign up sheet for the day is posted at 8am in the morning and all filled by 10am. And some didn't honor the sign up and just jumped in line. Thanks to reading reviews here we brought our own bath, pool and hand towels. Otherwise it's $10 to rent 2 towels. Also...

The suroundings are really nice. Other than that not a lot to offer. All apartments are privately owned and rented out by landal when the owners aren't here. The staff knows very little about the apartments themselves. We were located in an apartment with a lot of stuff left by the actual owners. The staff couldn't tell us what we could/ were allowed to use and what not. It was also unclear what kind of kitched equipment we could expect. The apartment was pretty outdated except for the kitchen. The people next to us were renovating their apartment which they are allowed to do between 8AM and 5PM (so bye bye peace and quiet). Last but not least a lot of children arrived, they were on some kind of school trip?... They were loud and since the employees are gone by 4PM, you just have to deal with is. If you plan on barely being in your apartment, this is for you. If not, it may be better to...

This is my go-to hotel when I stay in Hirtshals. They have a really beautiful beach (picture attached below). The rooms are generally very nice and cozy, but be aware that if you choose to stay at a room on the upper floor, there is a really steep stair inside the room leading to the second floor, so maybe reconsider letting young children stay up there as they might fall. Other then that, there aren't many mote cons about staying here. They have a swimming pool and a jacuzzi which albeit are pretty old, but I don't really mind. The Hotel is a couple minutes of walk from Hirtshals. Right outside of the Hotel is some old military bunkers, which the Germans built in WW2. You can go and check them out if you like! I really love this Hotel and I will certainly come...
