Just like majority of people we used this camping to sleep before the ferry to Norway. We stayed there for 2 nights in a tent - but I wish it was 1 day more. ||First of all the reception - that was the best camping customer care I have seen so far. Conni does an amazing job. ||Tent spots are numbered and there is an option of electricity. Sanitary building is big and clean - I think other campings should learn from this one "how to do the toilets/showers". ||At first we were a bit disappointed that tent spots are far away from "sea view" - but once we found out it can be a bit windy we were glad we are behind the bushes (the views there are still nice - no worries ;). ||The camping is indeed placed 50m from the sea shore. Just next to it is the big lighthouse (amazing view), some museums etc. The city of HIrtshals is definitely worth visiting - and make sure to take the walk by the sea on the way back. ||There is a small foodtruck on the campground where you can try some local food. When we were there the campground also was visited by people from the local aquarium. I absolutely recommend this camping!||PS We used it also as a base for visiting...
Read moreThis is a huge campsite on the coast in Northern Denmark. We used it for 1 night after the crossing from Langesund in Norway into Hirtshals. The ship got in a 7pm and many Motorhomes booked into the site without an advance booking. The reception is well organised and fast and more importantly you get allocated a pitch number. It is a very windy site but clean and the toilet facilities were great with plenty of showers. There is also a television room and a cooking area which is a great for those under canvas .Hirtshals town is within walking distance as is the Bunker museum, The aquarium is also in town and were it not for the need to traveled down to Holland to catch a ferry the next day we would have stayed longer as Hirtshals is an interesting town. Can't remember the cost exactly but it worked out at about £23.00 for a pitch, 2 adults and electricity. There is...
Read moreSuper location directly at the sea front. Outstanding view, Sunset View spot..... if you are able to catch a parking box in the first row. In my case this was available, (of season in September) without reservation, but you need to be onsite early, before noon. During high seasons you have to make an early reservation for the best spot.....
Friendly staff, speaks German and English.
Location is mostly used for a night in order to catch the ferrys north. Which gives the place a bit of restless impression. Especially in the morning as most are leaving early for the ferrys. In my case my neighbor was unfortunately packing and repacking his camper in the night until 11pm.....
sanitary facilities are all very well maintained and absolutely clean. Shower cost 5 Danish Kronen, for 3 minutes.....which is challenging so I would suggest at least you have some spare change...
