Update May 2022: I had to edit my review as things have changed in almost 3 years since we came here (my old review is below). The view is still awsome, let this be clear. The rooms have been renovated with taste, which is very good, except for the bathroom which is still very small and features a single, tiny, sink (barely larger than a sheet of A4 paper). For 3 people this is insufficient, let alone for maximum capacity (claimed to be 6 people). The sink is so small that toiletries for 3 people do not fit on the ledge ... The staff is still very nice but the restaurant has not improved (not a problem as there are still excellent restaurants in Svendborg). I think it is fair to remove one star from the overall rating (for the tiny sink), but remember: the view is absolutely fabulous from the small appartments on the ground floor !
3 years ago, I gave 5 stars and wrote : On vacation in Denmark with our daughter. We choose this hotel because it seemed ideally located as a gateway to the archipelago South of Fyn. We cautiously booked 2 nights in a small appartment with 2 bedrooms, a sitting area a small kitchen with a dining table, and a patio with a lovely view over the water. The place is extremely quiet and was so good that we decided to stay an extra night. The only thing that could be better is the size of the bathroom, especially the sink. Beds were really comfy. The restaurant was very good albeit with limited choice. Not a problem as the city has many restaurants including gourmet ones. The hotel will lend you (free) bicycles to roam around and discover the city. We saw that some rooms were being renovated, so I would advise to ask for a recently renovated one if you book by telephone. Staff at reception and in the restaurant were very nice. Overall an excellent stay....
Read moreThe hotel is beautifully located on a scenic shoreline, offering a real sense of serenity — especially during an evening stroll by the water. The buildings are set on a hill, so be prepared to navigate a lot of stairs to reach the reception, restaurant, and other areas.||Our room was very spacious, and well designed for three people, with two separate sleeping areas (though no doors). However, the bathroom was quite small and inconvenient, with a shower and shelves positioned in a way that only suited taller guests.||Tea and coffee were provided in the room, which was a nice touch.||The hotel restaurant was expensive, with small portions, and there were no alternative eateries nearby. That said, the food was very good in quality.||Breakfast was excellent, offering a variety that included sausages, crepes, omelets, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruits and vegetables, yogurt with...
Read moreAlmost never had less value for my money. € 250 for a suite with view on the sea.
A big room, not a suite. Yes, over the big roofs I could see the sea… Outdated. Roomservice was not available due to lack of staff but my problem is that they didn’t communicate this when I booked. Nearest restaurant was at least 15 minutes walk but the hotel staff kindly allowed me to take a plate and silverware up to my room…. pfff When you use the shower, the whole bathroom including your toiletpaper gets wet. Warm room with no airco not fan. Very noisy: delivery trucks in the morning and refrigerator and airco from the kitchen in the evening. Breakfast was very nice thus a...
