❌DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL❌ THIS IS A SCAM. THIS HOTEL DESERVES TWO STARS, NOT FOUR.
Please read this!! Be warned, in this review, I will be very bitter, for me and my mother have spent 4 days in this hotel and I have more than enough things to share. For your information, the hotel was barely filled halfway, so these mistakes weren't due to being busy but rather due to trying to save up money on us. Here's the details...
After arriving, we had to wait for about fifteen minutes before someone finally came. No greeting, only a cold dismissal with the breakfast times, after which we've been abandoned right away.
After coming to our room... Heating did not work. We've been to the reception TWICE and the heaters still weren't working, even after leaving them for hours with differently turned knobs. When we wanted to warm ourselves up, we had to go down to the sauna and wrap ourselves up in the covers.
The smell of the hotel and the room was horrendous. That terrible smell of dirty, unwashed carpets was present everywhere, a thorough clean would be very nice.
Now, you'd expect glass, or ceramic cups, right? Wrong. Two paper cups. In a 4* hotel, we've been given two paper cups...
One thing that's also questionable is the lack of option to choose separated beds. I suppose bringing in variety is way too much work. So here I was, forced to share beds with my mother, in a 4* hotel.
The "terrace" wasn't a terrace, but a balcony that didn't even have a table.
There's NO mini-fridge, and we even paid for the better room. We were keeping the food and drinks cold by putting them on the terrace. 😂
The toilet paper was put in some plastic box equivalent to a hostel's. We've been to a hostel in Nykøbing Mors that had 1-2* and it had the same toilet paper holder.
Even though room cleaning was daily, they barely touched the room, simply making our beds and throwing the trash out. What about a quick sweep, or a bit of vacuum action? When we came back, there were still a few stands of hair, and when we took a closer look, there was a slight mold in between the bathroom tiles.
When we asked about the massage service, the man at the reception wrote down a number and gave it to us to call instead of taking care of the reservation themselves. Um, what? The obvious course of action would be to take care of that yourselves, considering that you advertise the massage option as your own... The pool and sauna were the only salvation, though very, very small.
The pool was cold, despite being advertised as heated. I came into the water trembling and out of the water, also. What a great wellness service! Trying to save up on us, aren't you?
There was no option to rent a bathing gown and other bathing necessities. You're a WELLNESS HOTEL...
Though not my own concern, I've been told from my mom to write this down in here - the coffee was offered in thermal flasks. That's something we'd expect in a 1-2 star motel, not a 4* hotel.
When we were leaving the hotel, yet again, nobody was there, so because of being sick of the overall service, we just left the keys there and went on our way.
Overall, disappointing. For a 4-star wellness hotel, this is very, VERY, disappointing. There's a huge way to go to even deserve even three stars. I recommend for the hotel staff to get out and see hotels that actually deserve...
Read moreIn June 2020 we decided to take a road trip on the danish western coast and this hotel caught our attention with the interior design, the natural surroundings and the calm vibe.||The hotel has great potential if you are into old furniture, lounge chairs and a fireplace in the lobby. |Our room was fully equipped, clean and had a huge bed. We had a great view towards the forest. We had a good sleep and did not miss anything while in there. That was the highlight of that stay.||Once we stepped out of the room, we experienced the worst service we’ve had in a long time. |Upon arrival, we waited about 10min for someone to notice us in the lobby. No bell to ring. Finally someone from the restaurant came, handed our key and left. 20sec conversation. Nothing about where the room is, when and where is breakfast, ‘have a good stay’, ‘if you need anything...’. |Hours later we thought a 4 star hotel should have a decent dinner menu that we can enjoy so we went to the restaurant. Still no one at the reception to ask, I.e. if we need a booking. So we went directly to the restaurant where we waited another 10min for someone to even look at us. Two waiters were running around without seeing or wanting to see us. When we finally got seated, we got a menu and decided to order each a main dish and a juice. After a fairly decent waiting time, we got our food, however even if both our dishes stated new potatoes, none of us got them. We spent the next 10min trying to figure out if they are coming, if the waiter will notice us or simply look at us or just go ahead and eat. The potatoes never came, nor did the waiter. |The food was below average. My beef with few scattered vegetables and no potatoes :) was definitely not worth 298 dkk. |When we left, we mentioned it would have been nice to get the full order, but the reaction from the waiter was : ‘oh, where there potatoes? Didn’t know’. We just left after that.|The same waiter who ignored us, was very friendly with other guests around us, joking and talking about the weather. We found out soon that the priority was given to the guests booked on...
Read moreThe hotel is located at the top a Hill on the outskirts of hanstholm, 2 min walk from very nice views overlooking the industrial fishing harbour and ocean. Very close the bunker museum which is worth the visit.
The Hotel was booked by my wife for us to enjoy the west coast of Denmark in a spa hotel. We have done similar trips in the past, just never in this area. We found a decent deal for 2 nights, keep in mind that this is a 4 star hotel so we had high expectations.
The spa was a waste of time, full of very loud families, tiny sauna, weird swimming pool and "spa" area.
0 intimacy and privacy basically. I don't recommend for a couples retreat.
Our booking included 3 meals for dinner. My wife is vegetarian, thankfully the menu had vegetarian options.
The starter was a bad joke, Celleri carpaccio that my wife didn't finish.
Her main dish was the chefs creative vegetarian platter = Frozen Falafels (300dkk or 35 euros) again a bad joke.
I had pig cheeks that were done in the sousvide because they have a lazy chef, that were being sold as a braised pork chop.
The desert was actually a terrible apple compote but sold as a "old school apple pie"
Everything tasted industrial, and prepared a long time in advance. The bread was starting to dry and stale.
Thankfully the wine we had, was made in France, so the kitchen was unable to mess that up. They opened the bottle infront of us.
I don't know where the hotel management found this cafeteria cook, but they either never ate their food and they just don't care about quality. I feel terrible for the young aspiring staff who follow these terrible and lazy malpractices.
My blanket was stained. We did not stay the second night.
The staff was nice enough to let me choose a bottle of wine from the "cellar" (fridge) to compensate for our terrible evening at...
