Hotel Hedegaarden — Hotel in Vejle Municipality

We had booked a weekend stay through “Small Danish hotels”. ||The weekend stay included: a double room of category A for 2 people for one night. Coffee/tea and cake (when we wanted on the first day), a 3-course gourmet dinner followed by coffee and petit fours and breakfast the next morning. The price was DKK 1760. On top of this, you pay for your drinks.||Check in was easy and quick, the staff was friendly and tried their best. However as this was our first stay and actually the first time we have ever tried a weekend stay like this, it would have been nice with some guidance instead of being the one asking all questions in order to make sure we got everything we had paid for. ||For instance; on the first day, when we wanted coffee/tea and cake, we had to ask for it. Once we did, we felt it was a hassle for them to serve us. Actually I would much rather have had, they had offered us coffee and tea, self-service style, at least I would not have felt in the way.||I have written a review of the gourmet dinner on the " Hotel Hedegaarden restaurant" page.||The breakfast was good and the selection huge. It really brought the experience upwards.||The room we got was semi clean; the shower especially needed a good cleaning with mold remover and the drains were blocked which was a problem. Another issue with the room was there was no air-condition. This was a problem as we stayed during a nice sunny day and had the sun shining in our room during the afternoon, so temperature went up. During the night we opened the window but even that did not help a lot. ||A minor detail, the hotel is located near the motorway in an industrial area. When we looked at the hotels homepage one of the pictures is of a beach. The hotel is located no near a beach, at all. This was a bit disappointing as we had the impression the hotel was located next to the beach. Apparently the beach is about 3 km away.||The atmosphere of the hotel is not a cozy hotel feeling. I felt I was in a conference hotel/ motel style; especially the restaurant needs some atmosphere, or at least a clean table cloth.||All in all, the frame is there and we did actually enjoy our stay, however, the lack of attention to details, which will make the place a great customer...

When you book from small danish hotels, you expect something small and cozy, also as the name here suggested so.||Not so much :(. What we found, was a model in container style. In Denmark we don't expect AC, but with 30c outside in the eventing, some ventilation at least is necessary. With only one small window to open over the door, it was a horribly hot night. ||Half cocked eggs for breakfast (same yesterday another guest told me when we complained). Warm milk, dirty tables, tasteless scrambled eggs etc. ||Don't plan to stay...

Bestemt en god oplevels at gæste; og inden for skiven i forhold til prisen.

Vi deltog i stedets "Tapas aften", hvor prisen er lidt til den gode side, men hvor hele tyve serveringer og vin ad-libitum får det hele til at hænge godt sammen. Der er en uformel stemning og man henter selv sine små retter og vin.

Uden det er nok til at trække en hel stjerne fra, så savnede vi en lidt mere dybdegående præsentation af serveringerne. Eller alternativt et lille stykke papir til hvert bord med beskrivelser. Manglen på præsentation synes spøjs, da kvalitet og råvarer var i absolut topklasse - så der var masser at prale af, og tydeligvis masser af faglig stolthed at vise frem. Det gjorde man bare ikke.

Værelserne er funktionelle og udemærkede, i klassisk moderne konference-stil. Ikke nogen wow-effekt, men heller ikke noget at klage over.

Vi fik ikke prøvet ala Carte restauranten, men den fremstår virkelig hyggelig, og med et indbydende menukort. Efter den positive oplevelse med tapas-aften ser vi frem til at prøve stedets regulære køkken en anden god gang.

Udsigt og beliggenhed er ikke noget at skrive hjem om; der er stemning af Industrikvarter, og udsigt til bilforhandler og en tankstation. Du skal en smule væk for at gå en tur i det grønne. Adgangen til stedet er til gengæld virkelig nem; blot to minutters kørsel fra motorvejen.

Vi kommer gerne igen, med forståelse af at pris og kvalitet...
