Jelling Kro — Hotel in Vejle Municipality

We have a wonderful dinner at the Jelling Kro. It was a lovely evening and we decided to sit outside in the shade with great views across to the Viking mound and the church. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We went for the Beef Schnitzel (not often you get beef) and the Shooting Star mixed seafood dish. Both were excellent. The schnitzel was served with capers and anchovies with a slice of lemon which provided some saltiness to the dish. For dessert we had the Danish apple cake which is stewed apple (a little tart) and layers of breadcrumbs, very nice. Very disappointing! We booked for 16h and we reached on time and they said the restaurante was closed. There was people eating inside but they rejected to give us any food! Miserable.
