A Cave. The room smelled of mildew, mold, and stuffy like it was closed for a while. It was dirty. The bathroom had no ventilation and there was a hole and mold on the bathroom ceiling. The shower was clogged. The hand shower bracket slips down.I went to the balcony and had to come back in right away because of the strong sewage smell. The view was a half-filled lake and service or sewage lids were in front of the balcony. The kitchen was not equipped as listed. No oven, only 2 burner electric hot plate. The coffee machine was filthy and had no filters. No cooking oil, no salt, no pepper, nocan opener or bottle opener. The fridge was and undercounter, so small it had no shelf and was about 9" deep. We had to call to remind them for the extra blankets and the beach towels. The person that came in looked like a thug; a sloppy outfit and bermuda pants falling off. No uniform and his hair was not combed, no face covering amd walked in hugging the blanket around his arm and armpit. The living room faced the wall-no TV. The TV was in the bedroom and the employee had to come in to set it up and too small for the room. Oh the person at reception had no logo shirt or tag indicating he works there. Nice travertine floors and wood work. See some pictures as backup. Too much time taken with this review. We were there only spent a night, make dinner and breakfast, but the room we received was...
Read moreKnow what you’re getting into: I booked a studio apartment for $95/night and it was only that. The fridge in the room was a mini fridge, college dorm style. There was no stove, cooktop, microwave, or coffee machine. The bathroom had a double vanity and large shower stall, tub, and toilet. The A/C worked and well as the WiFi, but the TV was static. The pool area was vacant - no chairs, and the kid pool was half empty, with a non functioning hot tub. The beach is about 10min walk and they have chairs available that you can bring down to the sand. There are no restaurants and cafes nearby. You should rent a car, and the closest available (Jumbo) is in Bavaro about 15min drive. I felt very safe here, but I was traveling solo. Beware of vendors...
Read moreI have to say that while this place isn't super fancy it's a really good deal.
The rooms were clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable (king sized) and the pool was quite nice. We had a ground floor unit and it was in a fine spot, though this time of year the beaches weren't great but converted with a lot of seaweed.
Check in was easy, the kitchenette is not fancy, there's a microwave and small fridge and sink with plates, cups, utensils, etc. But it's a nice spot for a quick trip.
The area isn't very walkable, the roads are rutted and the resorts nearby keep things closed off but it's a great deal.
The bathroom was a little rough, the mirror was old, but things were clean. There's AC too and the unit backed the...
