I am an avid art lover and the sensory overload of fabulous works of art was amazing ... the service was impeccable .. the rooms were clean and filled with original art ... there was a seahorse by the elevator doors on our room floor that I absolutely fell in love with ... and suggested to Danny the attentive and gracious manager that he needs to have a gift shop with a replica of the jeweled seahorse ... so that I could buy it and take it home ... the real one was safely bolted down ... which Is a good thing ... !!! There was always an English speaking person on duty .. for those of us people still struggling with learning Spanish .... when we are in Ecuador ... we are learning the language .. but it is definitely a plus that this lovely hotel recognizes the need to communicate easily in my own language to assist in the experience of comfort. Also .. the bath tub was nice and deep to soak away the travel weary...
There was a delightful group of ladies having a wonderful lively and fun birthday party with live music when we were staying there ... so we did observe the attention to detail of a large party ... and the gracious attention each and every guest of that party was receiving from a very attentive group if wait staff ...
and also .. the buffets and happy hour nibbles were delicious, fresh, well maintained and reasonably priced ... and we did receive a free drink coupon upon arrival ...
Only some very minor suggestions to make it a 5 PLUS rating ... there was no lotion or mouthwash with the bathroom supplies ... and no opportunity to have a fruit basket or gift basket of goodies in the room when we arrived ... the bottled water provided free was a classy touch ... but the snacks and other items in the fridge seemed to be a little pricey .. but what HOTEL minibar costs have you ever seen that wasn't WAY OVER PRICED?? We will always make this hotel our home base when in GUAYAQUIL ... we had several business meetings with our Ecuador attorney while we were in Guayaquil, and the business center was staffed with a very helpful assistant, who went above and beyond the call of duty to make certain that our business needs were met.
so do yourself a favor and Plan a stay .. find Danny the handsome manager ... and tell him that The Sistas from Oklahoma USA sent you ... and let him tell you the great stories about the owners of the hotel and the 1,100 pieces of art that are available to sooth your soul with wonder while you stay at the Galery...
Read moreThe hotel front desk rep Karen put us into a room that they said was an upgrade but bathroom sink and a/c was broken. So Karen said for us to speak to the manager Angele at 7 AM but she never showed up in the morning. We went downstairs and spoke to rep Anthony who said manager would be in at 10AM since Karen gave us the wrong information. We asked if the hotel could offer us a free breakfast for our troubles since that is what Dayanna said that she could offer the next time we booked at this hotel. We came down at 10 AM and Anthony said manager Angele was in a meeting and never told us. So we spoke to the manager Sylvia who offered no apology for reps lying to us and putting us in a broken room. We were light headed from not eating breakfast but Sylvia didn't care and said she could speak to her boss. She had nothing to offer except a change of rooms and said all she could offer us was a free lunch and next morning a free breakfast and that was it, like we were beggars or utter trash. We felt like we were not guests and we decided to leave that same day. At checkout, the hotel reps Dayanna and Anthony tried giving us cash even though we paid with bank card. We also noticed that the cash was less than what we paid. Horrible scumbags, will never stay again. They are liars and scammers and the rooms are...

This property|is up your ally as the owners have filled the lobby, hallways and rooms with |sculptures and paintings.|The building itself is well maintained and clean.|Same goes for the hallways and rooms themselves.|Very satisfied with condition of furniture, water pressure, cleanliness.|We arrived by car, and a Big plus is that they have a private parking lot|That is accessible from inside the lobby area= so you don’t need to walk |out to street and back into the lot to get something from your car.||Something of note: Breakfast is not buffet style.|You sit and are brought two plates: one with fruit, |the other with eggs, bread empanada etc. and a coffee + juice.|So if you are not picky, this is fine. But if you prefer to decide for yourself,|What you will eat and How much = |then carefully think about this detail before booking.||In conclusion: We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return.|I am particular about breakfast and because of that: I will need to decide|Weather or not to go eat elsewhere...
