We loved our stay at Hotel San Agustin Plaza. We stayed two nights to visit Lake Quilotoa 1 1/2-2hrs away. ||THE STAFF ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|Very smooth check in. Very professional and helpful. They arranged a tour for us and transport to the terminal after our stay. Also recommended an excellent restaurant nearby.||THE ROOMS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|The Hotel is only 2 months old so the rooms are very modern and clean. Good size rooms (we have the double room with two full sized beds) with beautiful bedding and ensuite with bath (lots of hot water). Very comfortable nights sleep. Supplied a bottle of water, tea and coffee in the room. Wifi worked great as did the cable TV.||BREAKFAST ⭐️⭐️⭐️|Breakfast was included in the booking. We had breakfast one morning. It was ok. Started off with a very sugary cereal with milk or yoghurt. Tea or coffee. The some sliced cheese and ham with toast and a small plate of sliced fruit. Then we could choose eggs with or without cheese and ham. Also a juice/smoothly made out of Tomate de Árbol (tree tomato) no added sugars etc. But I've never had it before and it had a very strong taste.|As a vegan it was pretty much inedible but that's my fault because I forgot to tell them ahead of time and just assumed it would be a buffet style breakfast. So ask ahead if you have an dietary needs. I could have jam on toast and fruit.||Overall highly...
Read moreVery good hotel in a somewhat unexpected location. In a small country town this hotel is almost out of place - modern, well designed rooms. Excellent bedding, proper bathroom and hot shower, good wifi. ||||Floors seem to be heated, perhaps just hot water pipes underneath - either way very nice during cold Andean nights. ||||During our stay hotel did not have many guests, so breakfast was served "on demand", not as a buffet, which takes a bit of time. On our first day we did not plan for this and had to skip breakfast as we were setting out for Quilotoa. ||||Keep in mind if using parking, you have to go ask a guard to open it for you, which may be challenging as there is not a lot of parking space on the street. ||||This place is not cheap when compared to other hotels in town (and, in general) - but IMO that extra price...
Read moreWe stayed there for 3 nights. The hotel was practically empty, but the facilities were nice EXCEPT FOR OUR BATHROOM. It was so tiny that the glass sliding shower/tub door could not be opened enough so that I could even get in the shower/tub. My friend is very skinny and she could barely get in--it was dangerous even for her! I don't think all the room are like this, so be sure to check before you settle in--some designer did a bad job of measuring! Also, the air conditioner stopped working and we had to ask for a fan. Weird because the hallways are cold! Since they did not have many people staying their breakfast was prepared by one of the desk workers--juice, eggs, toast, coffee. Not fancy but very adequate. No one at the hotel...
