It was little hard to find this place, it's about 800m further down on the street. Street is correct but the location on the street is wrong on Google maps. It's about 10min walk to Montanita town centre from this place. It's away from all the noise in a very safe area, there's always people on the street and you feel safe even at night. But the street is very dusty and unclean. They have hot water and clean sheets. You only get a fan, it can be very hot and humid at night. Fan was really old and loud, so that was very disappointing. You also get a small Tv with cable channels. Curtains in the room are so thin, you can literally see everything through them, this can be a privacy concern. This makes the room also very bright early in the morning. Staff here is very friendly and helpful. For some reason from outside this place looks poorly managed, I guess they need to put little bit more effort to clean the garden and keep it appealing. Reception area is also bit messy. There's a sign outside on the street with room prices, it looks so cheap compared to what you get online. So you feel ripped off, if this sign is old and these prices are no longer valid they need to update this or remove it. If it's still valid, what you get online is a ripoff and it's disgraceful to charge people like that. Building is still under construction and incomplete, but no construction work going on. There're stray dogs in this area, they can be really loud at night and early in the morning. For some reason you hear them from behind the building. Overall it's an ok place to stay if you're...
Read moreBooked for 2 nights, stayed for 4. This hostal is a short 10 minute walk from the main streets of Montanita, but in return you get a quiet night's rest and excellent rate for the room. Yes, it is down a dirt road which can make for a slippery walk when it's been raining, but my suspicion is amenities are slowly being built, as from previous reviews on other sites there were no street lights, but on our visit there were. ||The hostal owners were very friendly and accommodating and one spoke some English. The room was pretty large, clean and well maintained. There's a ceiling fan, small TV with cable, wifi in room (can be a bit slow, but reliable nonetheless), big shower with warm water and a hammock out the front. ||Perhaps the only cons from our stay, was that one morning there was no power (at least in our apartment), one night there was no hot water for the shower or running water in the hand basin, and the room is not services daily. However, all these were pretty minor issues as we were on the way out when the power was out, the water was back to normal for following morning, and for a 4 night stay it wasn't entirely unbearable not to have the room cleaned daily. ||Would highly recommend if you're looking to avoid party central...
Read moreOur room with a private bath was spacious & clean in arrival. The shower worked great & had warm water (tho you'd rarely want it). There was a ceiling fan that helped a bit (but it was still super hot; not the hostel's fault). It's a bit of a walk down a long dirt road that can be a bit icky when it rains but we found the walk to be mostly worth not being right in the mix of things as the party never stops in Montanita. Very safe & the host is a lovely lady! They didn't clean the room daily which we found to be slightly unfortunate as sand builds quickly, but that's about all to...
