We stayed 4 nights as a family of 4 with small children. Our room was near the back and away from the road, so with the air conditioner on and waterfall in the pool we heard no road noise. (Several of the Hotels on the beachfront drag would have been far louder.) we also liked being a block from the grocery store and laundromat and on the main drag in and out if town so it was easy and quick to catch a cab. Room was clean and pool was nice. Breakfast was good for the price. If you stay more than 2 days, I recommend eating breakfast a few times elsewhere for variety. Staff was very nice. There are two reasons why I gave a rating if 4. First, when my Spanish speaking uncle called to register and got a price,it included breakfast. When we arrived, we were told that breakfast was extra. Also, there was only a sheet and no blanket on the bed and at night we were cold. Also weird to us, but perhaps standard in Ecuador, there were no pillow protectors or bed pads under the sheets. I prefer a little more distance between me and the person who last slept in the bed. I’d...
Read moreVisited Hotel Berlin International with a friend. They were great to allow us in a bit early and watch our bags when we checked out. They even helped us out to fix a booking error and finding us two rooms upon our arrival. ||The rooms were comfortable and had AC, which was nice. I did feel they were a bit expensive for what the hotel offered. In the pictures there were hammocks, but that wasn't the case when we were there. They did serve breakfast and the hotel staff were very friendly. ||The main reason for the lower rating is the increased price they charged for a whale watching and Isla de la Plata tour. I directly asked the staff there if they charged the same as all the operators and was told yes, but upon walking down to the pier a little later that morning we saw prices posted for less than we paid. It was quite frustrating and pretty unethical, to say the least. ||So, in summary, the hotel is a decent place to stay, but a bit pricey for what it offers and do not book any tours through them... Always go through operators in the...
Read moreThey seemed to be very attentive during Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning other than that half the time no one was around the desk. If so not a lick of English, then they laugh together which made us feel like they were laughing AT US. Stayed for 5 days. They have 2-3 guys that work there along with 2-3 female cleaners. Come Monday the pool was off and half empty. The flowers were dying and no water in the water container. There’s 1 younger boy who seems to work his ass off while the other 2 (1 assistant manager) spend all their time trying to look busy which was excruciating to watch. They seem to walk around looking into rooms to dip into to hide and were always in their phones. The girls WORK THEIR TALES OFF! The kitchen/laundry area was a MESS and not something anyone wants to see. For the price THE POOL SHOULD BE FULL AND MAINTAINED! Beds and pillows were awesome! Hot showers great. The English speaking manager seemed to always be away or...
