Hey team,
I just wanted to thank you for those amazing dives. It was pure joy to go underwater with you in such a unique place. I was absolutely thrilled that we saw so many mantas, but just as happy that I got to meet you and be part of such a perfectly organized adventure.
You created such a great vibe, brought together a bunch of strangers, and showed us this beautiful spot – which, let’s be real, was also a bit of a challenge. I’m super grateful for all the tips, info, jokes, and for the way you were always one step ahead of us – it made everything run so smoothly.
This is seriously one of the top dive centers I’ve dived with – super professional, but also totally chill.
I really appreciate all the little details you care about: everything kept tidy, our bags labeled with our names, asking about our expectations (and actually delivering on them), the clear and easy-to-follow briefings with dive site maps!!!!!, the smooth and almost invisible service (most of us didn’t even notice when you swapped our tanks for fresh ones), all those endless whale-watching stops, your calmness both underwater and on the boat, and at the same time keeping a super friendly vibe at the base (thanks girls!).
Seriously – thank you. It was a truly...
Read moreAfter reading great reviews, we booked via email 4/16/22 for 6/17/22 and exploramar confirmed our day trip to dive isla de la plata with professional emails. We scheduled our trip in Pierto lopez for this dive trip. I also sent follow up emails confirming our reservation and that we planned to be there as scheduled a week before and day before. Unfortunately, they didn’t respond and when we arrived at 8am as the email had instructed on our confirmation email, no one was there. We waited 45 minutes and then frantically contacted the other dive shops but boats all go out by 8:30 to reach the island. Needless to say, we did not get to dive the island and were very disappointed. Upon emailing them this, they sent a nice apology email explaining that they had written us down on the wrong date.
We ended up diving with native diving for a half day “local dive” which was just down the beach in the rocky lagoon and was not very exciting, but we had a good experience with their professionalism and showing up on time. It was just the two of us with a dive master which was great. If you book with exploramar, make sure you have a backup and that they respond confirming your reservation the day before. People do say they are...
Read moreWe did not dive with Exploramar but my rating is solely based on price following a comparison of dive companies in the area.
For a normal (local) dive we were quoted USD120 (two tanks plus lunch). We got quotes from three other dive shops/tour operators in the area and they were all USD85.
For Isla De La Plata (inside the Parque Nacional Machalilla), Exploramar quoted is USD160 (and afterwards offered USD140 if we paid cash). That is more expensive than the dives we did in the Galapagos!
We ended up getting two days of diving (two tanks each day) for USD60 per day. Not at Isla De La Plata but good...
