La Casa De Mike — Hotel in Parroquia Puerto Villamil

We stayed as guests with Mike in Isabella in April. The room was clean and ready for us to move in on time. There is a shared kitchen and a dining area both indoors and outdoors. The kitchen is equipped with the most important utensils. The room has air conditioning and towels.

Mike and his mother live on site with their dog Astral and their cat, which is super convenient as there is always someone there to answer questions. Any questions we had before arrival or while we were away were answered quickly and competently via Airbnb chat. Both are extremely helpful and want to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Mike speaks excellent English and is extremely supportive. He provided us with some tips on what to visit in the area and organized some tours and taxis for us. This was a great service for us, as it allowed us to enjoy our vacation much more and make the most of Mike's local connections. Mike himself gives surfing lessons at a nearby beach, which is also a great opportunity to try surfing for the first time.

One person from our group of three wanted to stay a little longer, which was no problem at all.

Absolut schreckliche Menschen. Olga, die Mutter von Mike war die ganze Zeit da um Fehler aller Gäste zu suchen. Im Zimmer neben mir war das Waschbecken kaputt und tropfte, anstatt es richtig zu reparieren kamen andauernd Leute die versuchten es wieder zu richten. Als dann wieder Wasser tropfte waren die Gäste Schuld und würden angeschrien. Einer Frau wurde gesagt sie habe aber einen dicken Bauch und Blähungen, ein anderer Mann wurde beauftragt sein T-Shirt auszuziehen weil er stinkt. Als ich krank wurde und mit Norovirus im Bett lag, wurde mir unterstellt ich hätte einfach nur zu viel gegessen. Die Klimaanlage darf man am besten gar nicht benutzen, egal wie wenig man sie laufen lässt, es ist falsch und Olga kommt und schreit einen an. Sie ist der Hausdrachen in Person. Mike habe ich während meinem Aufenthalt geschrieben und er schien sehr verständnisvoll, im Nachgang habe ich aber eine Bewertung auf Airbnb von ihm bekommen, die einfach nur aus lügen besteht. Von Verständnis keine Spur mehr, stattdessen lügen um die eigenen Fehler nicht eingestehen zu müssen. Anstatt zu helfen als ich krank war, ist Olga sogar nachts mit ihrem Schlüssel in unser Zimmer gekommen obwohl die Tür abgesperrt war. Sie unterstellt mir, dass ich nicht richtig abspülen würde, was einfach nur bullshit ist. Als ich fragte ob ich meinen Schlafanzug waschen dürfte (weil ich krank war und noro Iris eklig ist) begann sie mir zu erklären wo der nächste Waschsalon ist....während ich mit Fieber im Bett lag. In abgesperrten Zimmer ging sie grundsätzlich einfach mit ihrem Schlüssel rein. Wirklich der schrecklichste Aufenthalt den ich jemals hatte, gekrönt von einer Lügentirade im Nachgang. Unglaublich und ich würde jedem davon abraten...

On the morning of my departure, I had to be at the harbor very early. The evening before, I asked Mike to arrange a taxi for me for the next morning. He assured me that he would take care of it and asked me to be ready by 5:00 AM.

I got up especially early to be on time and prepared to catch the taxi. However, no taxi arrived. I was left standing alone with all my luggage, with no one around to assist me. I messaged Mike, and although he read my message, he chose not to respond. He never got back to me at all.
