El Paso — Hotel in Parroquia Salango

Honestly this is a place I think back of several times a month missing it. It is the best place I stayed at during my 5 months traveling around South America. ||||The family is so welcoming and hard working and just the sweetest human beings.||The family is so helpful and caring and we ended uf staying for two weeks instead of 3 days.||||Ayampe is quiet and it should stay quiet so if you don’t like it quiet then you should consider montanita instead. ||||The only photo I have from the place is on the bed in the private bamboo room on the second floor which we stayed in, it was golden. ||I mean it’s not 5 stars or anything but I’m not that kind of person either, for me this is PERFECT!||||I can’t wait to go back to see them sometime when travel is allowed again ❤️❤️❤️❤️||||||MUCHAS gracias...

Update: Based on our first experience, we returned for breakfast. Never again. There was a 40 min wait even though only one other table of 5 people. My partners ceviche was in an ‘ unknown’ sauce but ok. My hash browns were basically potato pancakes that was gummy and undercooked. Maybe the regular cook has Sundays off? Not sure what went wrong but a very unpleasant experience. Previously had an incredible breakfast in Las Tunas for half the cost.

The restaurant was referred to us when another place was closed. So glad to have had that conversation. The food was very good. The chicken salad could have easily fed 3-4 people so lots to take home. My partner had the pescado epanado ,which was crispy and hot to...

The best place we stayed in four months of travelling. We felt so at home. The room was delightful with a private bathroom and a brightly coloured mural and it was cleaned every day which was a real treat. The showers are actually hot too! There are hammocks to chill in and plenty of space to relax, or do some spanish studying! The kitchen is great and has all the utensils you need but if you dont fancy cooking, the restaurant is the best in Ayampe (I really recommend the pescado con salsa de mani - fish in peanut sauce, it is delicious!). The location is great too - on the central street near to two shops and minutes...
