Hotel Dream Beach Colonial — Hotel in Salinas

Everyone, this hotel is a great place to stay, it is an older place that needs some work but for the price, location and ambience, it is great. I have been to 17 countries in Europe and Central and South America....I have come here for various holidays over the years because some of my family lives in Ecuador...and close the the condo they have but I like my privacy and that is why I stay here...You could call this a place for the younger generation but this place has wood flooring that just gives that cozy feeling folks, clean sheets, clean small bathrooms, nice small staff, nice little bar if you want to go to eat too, they got small items, but their are other places to go....At night because of the way the place is built and location you will hear activity all the time but that is part of the beach hotel experience, it is at the end of the beach close to the entrance to the navy base and away from the other main beach where all the big time noise is....of course pay more go to a more expensive location but I am young at heart and just enjoy...

It's was near a decade ago, but from what I remember... An absolutely lovely couple ran this place, in a lovely location, and I seem to remember even been given a breakfast that I hadn't asked for... maybe I looked half dead after a magnifico night out... I remember that! Inc one of those beer towers a small group of us shared... all strangers that got talking and had a great few hours in a bar. It was a lovely lil hotel, very comfortable, and didn't just look, but was a magical place, at a very good price for the time. I'd been travelling around Peru & Ecuador for a few months, stayed in some horrid dives(even waking with 100s of bites), this place was a fantastic change! I paid more, but then it's a resort, it's by the beach, and still very good rates!. The owners spoke excellent English and were so hugely helpful the even gave me a lift several times, once when they spotted me out knowing I was headed to a specific place and realised I was lost! So came over and gave me a lift!!. OK this isn't the Hilton.... but if you want that then pay 10x or 20x the cost!! Thank you, Carlos of the UK! I think late Aug 2014....
