Hotel Lottus — Hotel in San Juan

The most attractive feature of the hotel was that it had rooms with 3 beds. Not often do you find such hotels and given we were 3 friends traveling together it was an ideal set-up from a convenience and cost perspective. The hotel is quite simple, clean and relatively centrally located. Some claim the area is a bit unsafe but certainly didn't feel that way even walking the neighborhood streets at night. The front desk was helpful despite their limited knowledge of English. The complimentary breakfast was simple and perhaps recommend going outside for breakfast since there are many affordable options nearby but none the less for coffee, juice and some continental items it was quite sufficient. Booked this hotel as our centralized hotel while travelling throughout Ecuador. $30 cab ride from Quito airport. The smoking area is on the terrace on the roof which gives a terrific view of the city and mountains - no need to smoke, just check out the view. We were able to walk to the Basilica, the Eloja park as well as the Panecillo. Also close to San Francisco church. We had unlimited coffee with a basic breakfast. Security was very good and staff were very helpful with any of our needs. They went out of their way to assist with directions to the supermarket, cafes or restaurants. My preferred hotel in Quito was unavailable due to Fiestas Quiteñas and other hotels were too expensive.
