We booked through an established third party, and it was not stated that you had to have a marriage certificate upon arrival. As it is this hotels policy, we had to book another room for my partner at a discounted rate as we weren't married. Note, your partner is also not allowed to enter your room, they have to wait outside the building. This didn't make sense to me as there were other males on my floor. ||Because we stayed in different buildings, I did not feel safe all the time by myself. I know as foreigners, we stick out, and we should expect a few stares here and there, but a lot of the unwanted stares was from a mix of males and other guests. We often hung out in the pool and reception area as those were the only places we could meet.||The hotel is close to a mall and the airport. Uner was cheap for us to cstch an uber everywhere. The room was modern and as described. I will mention that because I was on the ground level, it was noisy throughout my stay, and I could hear people talking outside my window all times of the night. Also, someone's phone alarm went off for 45min+ so bring ear buds if your a light sleeper.||We got the continental breakfast, and the boys that worked in there were lovely, and the food was good.||We could not find a self service laundry near by, so we utilised the laundry service and believe the hotel used a third party. They charge per garment, turn around time is 24hours and there is an extra charge on weekends. They couldn't give us a total amount when they picked up our washing but we needed it done and ended up paying around 1800 EGP ($60NZD).||Overall, some of the staff we encountered were lovely, and others not so much. This place is great if you're a local or married, but we would not stay here again or recommend...

Read moreWe only stayed one night so it's not really possible to give an extensive review. We booked this via a private host on Booking.com. The Host owned the apartment.|The accommodation itself was absolutely fabulous. Massive 3 bedroom apartment and each one is en suite. We booked it on our final night as it was close to the airport but I wish I'd known about it earlier and we would have stayed for the initial 2 nights prior to our trip up to Alexandria. They've got TV with Netflix, apple etc. but we didn't really use it.||The area around is very quiet, far from the madding crowds of Cairo. The are seems to be still under development with a lot of construction close by. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance, a couple in the Sun City Mall and one just up the road which was OK, we used that one. Might show up on Google as Al Jaznin or something like that but it's called Chantell when you get there.|Other than that not much in the immediate vicinity. As it was getting late we ended up going to Le Meridien at the airport for a drink. Be warned, Egypt generally and Cairo is not the easiest place to get a drink. I rather naively assumed that alcohol was widely available - it's not, especially outside of the larger hotels.||Back to the accommodation, there is a swimming pool available but they charge something like $10 daily. As it was January it was too cold and we were out anyway. There is a small shop on site and a pasta restaurant but again, we didn't use them.|I would stay here again now I know a bit more about Egypt and would be prepared to travel for drinks. Taxi's are insanely cheap in Egypt so as long as you're prepared to travel for 20-30 minutes, you can find places. I really loved this accommodation though and the host is...
