Broken faucet, no shower holder, broken patio lamp, spiderwebs in room and bathroom, dusty sheets, jammed window, jamed door lock, cold shower. Less open lake view compare with lodges in north and west of the lake, very slow food, very annoying employee. Pictures were taken upon departure.
First time treating myself a water bungalow with a relatively acceptable price to enjoy last 2 days peace and quiet in Siwa, but had to give it away for a couple of hours to let them fix things and eat in town, as it took 1 hour to finally have a simple pasta and soup the previous night. The manager and the younger staff were nice, didn't want to waste my time writing a review like this, but telling me will bring toilet paper in exactly 15 minutes, waited 2 hours for nothing, the floor drain smelled, asked for any powder or liquid to flash it with several times didn't give me anything, not even from the kitchen they just used, manager knocked on my door after 11pm after i told them I would go sleep, cold evenings and mornings but no boiler worked in the whole camp was just too much, plus a employee who liked to wear half buttoned shirt took me to see the rooms in the back 3 times though I very clearly told him only wanted room in water upon arrival, kept saying "you're so cute" in my room didn't want to leave, told me with absolute certainty there were no dunes behind the lodge, it will be big wind again the day after when there were dunes not far behind no wind the next day, "thanks to him" I didn't get to see sand fly as I always wanted to see, also left the very uncomfortable swing with a rope on it completely untouched after telling me twice he would make it very nicely, then claim the work of the younger staff and manager "he sent him to do so", and came up to my room twice though I declared "do not come", "do not bring me anything", cause I did not want to make myself difficult washing hair from a bucket. He did apologize, but it can't make up for screwing other people every single time, completely act out of his own mind not the need of his guest at all. I strongly suggest him find a job away from any...
Read moreBest thing about the stay is Za'atar!! Please, keep treating him well. Some reviews here are from princesses and very spoiled priviledge people. You are in the middle of the SAHARA DESERT!! First of all water in the desert = gold. Siwa is among the bedoin village, wake up! There is no electricity, only solar panels and people complaining about AC?! Did all this tourists from developed countries finish high school? They have very limited resorces here! There is no government City's water, sewage or electricity provide around here. Don't even dream about wi-fi in the desert. Stop your privilege's winning. The hotel was great for the reality around here. Staff did the best to welcome us even without a single word of english. Most of people around here are ILLITERATE, I downloaded egyptian Arabic language but without people ability to write and read was a challenge around here. Some European people complaining about the amount of money paid for juice, I'm ashamed for them. People around here, the workers from the hotels and tourism industry similar to slave conditions and all this tourist complaining! Please tip the hotel staff, tip the poor local people..don't give money to the rich hotel honors. Right when you arrive, tip them and they will be amazing to you. This is Africa, not Greece or a Cancum resort. And the ones complaining about cleanness: there is lots of wind at night, everything gets really dusty and full of sands, it doesn't matter how many times you clean, it's a...
Read moreThis was the biggest letdown of my trip and it was the hotel that I was most looking forward to. This was the second most expensive hotel we stayed at at around $50 for a night, but the value for money was horrible. Upon arrival, the staff were very rude to us. We drove in and there was no one there and we got out and our driver started unloading our luggage and someone came out yelling at our driver saying that he wasn’t supposed to have driven in, but how was he supposed to know? there was no sign and no one at the front. The room was interesting but small. No hot water, which seems to be a trend in the reviews. And the pool was completely empty, even though it was showed to be full on the platform we booked on. The cleanliness wasn’t good as well. The toilet clearly hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. Breakfast was also supposed to be included, but we needed to leave early and when we asked for breakfast at seven or 7:30 they said no. They said the earliest they could do was at nine, which seems crazy to me. It’s very normal for a hotel to provide breakfast starting at 7 o’clock. Nine is super late to start. Would not stay here again and would not recommend anyone else to. Love...
