Jewel Port Said Hotel — Hotel in Port Said

This hotel is located in one of the nice areas in the city and there are a lot of places nearby. There are a lot of near cafes, restaurants, parks,..... etc. The hotel facilities are not really good. However, the price is very suitable and economic. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had a good experience with almost everyone except one person at the reception that we met when we were checking out as he did not help us get a late checkout for a couple of hours and said that there is no availability for that although the hotel was not full and we found availability on booking.com for this day. But it is not an issue. We just wanted an extra couple of hours and he did not give it to us and it would have been better if we got that. Other than this situation, everyone else was very nice. The breakfast is good and exceeded our expectation for a small economic hotel. The rooms are ok. The bathroom had a problem that hot water finished very quickly. We stayed a night during the weekend and at night it was horrible and not easy to sleep because of noise in the street and music coming from somewhere nearby. As a conclusion, if you are visiting for a night or two and on a low budget, the place will be a perfect stay for you. Overall rating for me is 3/5...

The good part is that the building was recently renovated, so furniture is new. Also the location is great. The called hotel is missing basic hotel knowledge and sense. Yet, to be called as hotel need to fix the following basic Hotel requisites:

1. No coffee in the breakfast. This will annoy most of the tourists (not less than 90%). Coffee is essential in breakfast worldwide!!.
2. Most of the staff team needs to learn basic protocols and how to deal with guests. Putting lipstick when you are staying in reception is not appropriate, reception is not friendly over the phone, ..etc. One guest was telling that the reception guy was wearing slippers in reception. Very weird!!.
3. Breakfast is poor.
4. No guidance for hotel facilities.
5. Missing how to handle guest questions and how to politely and professionally answers questions of guests.
6. Furniture is new but weak. Easily breaking and needs to be with better materials.
7. Parking is there but not clear to whom it is opened. Probably to militants only.
8. It is owned by Army, yet as hotel listed online you need to stick to hotel...

I really enjoyed my stay at Jewel Hotel with my bestie. The location is absolutely perfect—super central and close to literally everything. At night, it gets a bit crowded since it’s surrounded by many cafes and restaurants, but that also adds to the charm and liveliness of the area.

We didn’t end up booking through Booking.com due to a payment issue and instead booked directly at the hotel, which turned out to be a great decision—it was literally half the price!

The room itself was super cute and cozy. The bathroom was on the smaller side, and they didn’t provide towels or bathrobes, but overall, it was still a comfortable stay. The AC worked perfectly, the breakfast included was surprisingly good, and the receptionists were incredibly professional and helpful throughout our stay.

The only downside was the Wi-Fi—it wasn’t very strong in the room. But other than that, it was a lovely experience and great value...
