In my eyes we paid a lot for a weeks all inclusive here but was reminded it was in school holidays so maybe the price was inflated over this time.
On arriving the reception staff were not overly warming and helpful. It’s a huge resort and we were told to download their app using a QR Code where apparently all the information we need is. Great if your young but no idea how the elderly who are not technically minded cope. In my eyes the staff could have given a quick overview of the resort and explained the restaurant booking system. The app needs updating.
The room we had was very basic. The room was old and bathroom tired. The bathroom had cracks in the bath that had poor silicone fixes, the silicone around the bath was terrible, the grout had mould in, the painted ceiling was poor. The bottom or the door and architrave was rotten. The fridge was not working, we asked reception twice and they said they would send the maintenance team out to check. The third time we saw the customer relations desk next to the reception. We spoke to a friendly lady who assured us she would get it sorted, and it was that day. If you have any complaints or issues go to this desk not reception. One morning we had the cleaner walk in to us naked, he did not knock and when we said no thank you to the room being cleaned he stayed staring. It was very awkward. Yes we hadn’t double locked the door nor put the do not disturb sign up, but if he had knocked we could have said no thank you before he opened it. A shame as the cleaner had made the effort of doing towel arrangements each day. We had bottled water replaced daily in the room along with sachet tea, coffee and powdered milk.
The choice of restaurants is vast but pre book as soon as you arrive via the app or it’s quickly booked out! It’s normally a 4 course meal at each restaurant. There are 3 non book restaurants that are buffet style. The waiters and chefs work extremely hard and always polite. Hunt out Cascade area, it’s not signposted and is a newly built area with pool, restaurant and bar. The bar has better quality syrup flavourings and the ice is from bottled water. They do better cocktails. Only negative is some bar staff ask for change for tips. I think this should be done voluntarily. We were told that Cascade is soon to become a premium only area meaning general all inclusive wrist band wearers will not be allowed to use those facilities, so if your booking soon then take advantage before the change.
The shops within the resort are very overpriced but to get to shops out of the resort I think it’s a taxi ride, so bring plenty of suntan lotion and after sun.
The whole resort is kept very clean. All sunbeds around the pools and beach are free. You get cards to exchange for towels. Beach towels can be exchanged every day at towel booths dotted around the resort.
We played tennis one evening after sunset. The equipment is collected from the reception. They charged €7, this should be a free service, the rackets had broken strings, the grip wraps hanging off, some balls were knackered, and not all the floodlights worked so the whole court was not lit up. My opinion is by all means ask for a refundable deposit for the equipment but don’t charge €7. The water park is great for the kids. The entertainment is ok and typical of these hotels.
We spent most days down the beach, you get hounded by tour operators, i am sure they also cover the pool areas. We booked quad biking and a snorkelling trip through Roberto. Yes they are overpriced, you can get cheaper via “get your guide” website or “Viator” website. The advantage with the boat trip is it went straight from the resort so no transfer to the marina where most trips depart from. Our quad biking was a private tour, so one guide to your booking. Well worth paying the extra to save being part of a big group, follow my leader type trip. Take plenty of water and don’t wear white clothes as you come back covered in sand and dust. Barter tour operators down.

Good things first. Nice hotel complex. Clean and well maintained. Pool landscape, cascade area, paths and greenery looks great. Beach access is good with volleyball, minigolf football, boggia, gym etc. Very cool to to yoga, zumba and a gym session outside. Half the buildings are renovated and the others are on the way. Looks a bit odd but it's only temporary.
Activities are plenty but the animation is mainly left to the tourists for ball sport activities. Zumba, dancing and some boggia is actively promoted. But volleyball or other sports need to be organised by the tourist themselves. That should be an easy fix.
Food was frequently criticised before but we were pleased by it. Breakfast can't be faulted. It contained everything one needs. Omlettea, pancakes and beans are nice. Lunch and dinner are a bit dull to be honest. It misses some flavour and seasoning but one is always able to find something. Grill stations are good as well as the desserts. We didn't try many drinks but the ones we choose were quite bad. I wouldn't recommend any cocktails. Very watery withblocal booze. Notably though is the Mexican restaurant in the cascade area which serves proper cocktails. Mexican lunch is also available for premium only and has an elevated quality. A bit weird to have a double standard in the same hotel complex.
Pools look very nice and clean but are very cold. We mainly used the beach. Sun chairs are good and plentiful. Beach is good but could be sandy for my preference. Its a hard surface. Like other hotels have done, they could fill the area with sand. Wind shields are definitely a plus at the beach as the wind can make 27 degrees feel cold.
Now the negatives: Very rude staff and commanding behaviour throughout our trip. Inside and outside the hotel. Noteworthy is the reception which didnt give any information for the check-in. We were left alone and had to discover meal times, restaurants, our apartment by ourselves. When asked, they feel constantly bothered to do their job and make the customer feel bad for even asking. Rude behaviour from the shop owners in the hotel when nothing is bought. To the brink of insulting us in Arabic. Their prices are out of touch and 4x the price of same things in hurghada. The approaches for spa, camel ride and boat trips on the hotel beach was annoying but expected. It becomes only unnerving when they don't take a no for an answer. Especially the spa guy who threatened us we would get hepatitis C doing spa treatments outside the hotel. Their prices were of course again 4x higher. A real downside is the wifi, only in the lobby, cascade, aqua bar and small beach area. Very slow so we bought a sim card for 10eur and 20gbp with our tour guide. Don't buy it in the hotel shop. 4x the price again. But seriously, wifi should be implemented all around the complex. WiFi is nowadays as important as a bed in the room. Overall, Nothing is free in this country. Even taking a picture requires a tip. The hotel charges you for everything. Water sports (extra company) ,spa, mini golf, Billard and tennis, play station, poocorn stand, are not included. Seriously, tennis and Billard are so standard. In the last 15 years I have never seen a hotel to charge you for that. 5 euro is not that much but still.
Also everything is in foreign currency as their EGP is massively devalued. Very annoying because they don't care between £,€,$ whereas GBP is obs the most valued. You have to have cash and best to have dollars as it would be the cheapest for you. Ay least the ATM in the hotel gives you a good exchange rate very close to the market.
To sum up the things they must improve: Staff behaviour and check in introduction Sand on the beach Better promotion of activities Wifi throughout the complex
In general the male dominated forceful behaviour and hassling is off putting. No matter where, almost every shop owner approaches you to come inside but then they come up with their fantasy prices....

Rating: 1/5
I'm extremely disappointed and upset with my recent stay at Long Beach Resort Hurghada. From the moment we arrived, we felt discriminated against by the staff due to our Asian appearance. It was clear that some guests were given priority over others, and we were consistently ignored or overlooked. Whether it was checking in, requesting amenities, or seeking assistance, we were often met with indifference or a dismissive attitude.
We had specifically booked premium rooms, but when we arrived, we were given standard rooms that were no different from the regular rooms. When we asked the staff to upgrade us or provide the premium amenities we were promised, they seemed uninterested and uncooperative. It was clear that we had been misled, and our payment for premium rooms was not reflected in the service or accommodations we received.
The service was subpar, and our requests for extra towels and room cleaning were met with indifference. When we tried to complain, the staff seemed uninterested in resolving the issues. We witnessed staff catering to guests of certain nationalities while ignoring us. It was like they had a preference for specific guests, and we were left feeling like second-class customers.
One of the most glaring examples of this discrimination was when we asked for sunbeds by the pool, only to be rejected. Meanwhile, sunbeds were readily available for other guests. When we politely asked why we couldn't have sunbeds, the staff gave us a vague response, clearly not willing to accommodate our request. It was clear that we were being treated unfairly.
The food was vile and disgusting. We were expecting a decent all-inclusive experience, but the quality was poor. The buffet options were limited, and the food was often cold or overcooked. To make matters worse, the bars and restaurants would close early, and snacks and drinks were not available 24/7 as promised. This was a major letdown, especially since we had paid for an all-inclusive package.
What was even more unacceptable was the behavior of some waitresses. They would insult us in their own language, seemingly under the assumption that we wouldn't understand. However, we were fluent in their language and were shocked to hear the derogatory comments and swearing directed at us. They would mock our appearance, make snide remarks about our food choices, and even discuss us in a disparaging manner while standing right next to us. This was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
The snack bar experience was a prime example of the discrimination we faced. We waited in line for 40 minutes, only to be told that there was no food left when we finally reached the front. However, as we walked away, we saw them serving food to foreign guests who arrived after us. It was blatant discrimination, and it was clear that the staff was catering to everyone but us.
The shuttle bus service was also appalling. We would wait almost 40 minutes to an hour for a bus, despite knowing there were multiple buses operating around the resort. When we asked the staff about the wait times, they would brush it off, telling us that the buses would arrive soon. This was incredibly frustrating and wasted a lot of our time.
Additionally, the staff would aggressively lure us into local shops, telling us to "just come in and buy" without disclosing prices. When we politely declined or asked for prices, they became rude and dismissive. They would try to guilt-trip us into making purchases, claiming that we were "ruining their business" if we didn't buy something. This was high-pressure sales tactics at its worst.
The resort's claims of excellent service and welcoming atmosphere were far from the truth. The discriminatory treatment, poor service, and unfulfilled promises made our stay unbearable. Unless they address these issues, I wouldn't recommend Long Beach Resort Hurghada to anyone, especially Asian travelers.
Wouldn't...
