A Hidden Gem in Sharm El Sheikh: My First (but Not Last!) Visit to Park Regency Resort

  1. Why I Chose This Resort I discovered Park Regency Resort on Booking.com, drawn by its excellent ratings and glowing reviews—especially the many mentions of the Turkish Food & Beverage Manager, Mr. Zuhur Çetin. I honestly suspected some reviews might be promotional—but curiosity won, and I booked the stay with my wife and our 4-year-old son.

  2. First Impressions: Simple Start, Grand Journey When we first stepped into the reception, I expected something more luxurious. But I decided to keep an open mind—and what unfolded next turned our experience into a memory we’ll never forget. Despite arriving very early, the reception staff warmly welcomed us and gave us wristbands so we could enjoy breakfast and drinks immediately. That kindness set the tone for everything that followed. Special thanks to Mr. Dinail**, who was the first face of the warmth this resort offers.

[Early morning sun lighting up the resort landscape with a wide sea view in the background] This was our first glimpse of the resort from above—a breathtaking combination of sea, sky, and greenery, promising an unforgettable stay.

  1. A Vertical Wonder: Civil Engineering Meets Resort Luxury As a civil engineer, I was deeply impressed. The resort is a true vertical masterpiece—floors built up the hill with elegant ramps, cascading pools, and lush green terraces. Each level is like its own mini-world. From the beach level (2nd floor) to the reception (7th floor), each floor features a swimming pool, waterfalls, and gardens—all naturally blending into the environment. And the sea view is never out of sight, from every single corner.

[Lush green landscapes with a waterfall and pool on one of the mid-levels of the resort] This perfectly-designed space felt like paradise—nature meeting thoughtful architecture with every step.

  1. Pools, Safety, and Kindness Each level had pools where our child could play safely, always under the watchful eye of friendly lifeguards. Special thanks to Mr. Fiasel, Mr. Mohamed and Mr. Said**, who were both professional and kind to guests of all ages.

  2. The Food: A Non-Stop Feast Whether at the main restaurant, beach café, or poolside snack bars, food is everywhere—and it’s delicious, fresh, and full of variety**. At the heart of it all is Mr. Zuhur Çetin, the energetic food & and beverage manager. I initially came to see if the online praise was exaggerated. What I found was a man of passion, precision, and pure dedication. He personally tastes the food, interacts with guests, plays with children—including mine—and oversees everything with the energy of a general and the heart of a host.

[Mr. Zuhur smiling with staff and guests around, mid-service at a food station] This sums him up—smiling, sharp, and in command, ensuring every guest has a perfect experience.

  1. Beach & Sea: A Natural Aquarium The beach is clean, sandy with occasional rocks, and opens into crystal-clear water full of colourful fish, even in shallow areas. Swimming here felt like entering a natural aquarium**, where nature put on a show just for us.

  2. Entertainment & Activities The animation team organized fun daily events, moving them around the resort to keep things fresh and exciting. This helped us explore the resort more and made each day unique and enjoyable.

  3. Housekeeping & Comfort Our room (5508) was always clean and well-organized thanks to Mr. Mohamed**, who was friendly and attentive every day. Much appreciated!

Park Regency Resort surprised me in the best ways. It combines intelligent design, heartwarming hospitality, and unforgettable beauty. From the "engineering elegance" to "culinary magic," this was more than just a trip-it was a gift to our family.

We'll definitely be back-and I strongly recommend it to families, couples, and travellers** who want more than a vacation... a...

It’s a lovely setting with great views but the reception team have let out holiday down massively. I can’t fault any other member of the other hotel staff, but from the first impression does leave a long standing feeling and the saying is true.

First the positives.

Mahmoud our cleaner ( Hibiscus ground floor ) is amazing and extremely talented with his towel art. He’s the person that single handed dealt with our original issue that should never have been created by the checking team. He deserves their job.

Ibrahim on the quite pool is extremely funny and helpful. All the pool staff are good but he deserves a special mention.

The beach is manmade and the Sand is quite gritty and it’s quite stony in the water on the coral so please be careful.

Food- plenty of choice, all round good selection of foods. Waiting staff are very good bit slow on cleaning tables but with the turnover of people it’s to be expected. It’s the single busiest place in the hotel, but there is always somewhere to sit and service is good when you catch the waiters eye.

Main pool bar - my advice is if you like a drink to bring your own there no fee at the airport for bring in your own drinks. The main bar man works both the day and night bar he can be a bit rude but all the other staff are quite funny and make up for his saltiness. Unless you pay your alcohol is cheap and all tastes the same. round the pool area you will be constantly mithered by people from different companies selling trips and the spa team. If your interested in trips shop about and definitely barter. Some people didn’t buy with the reps but online - it’s worth looking about. You can buy food here too and it’s cheaper than the beach bar but equally as tasty. Music here at times is a bit much not chilled vibes and sometimes too loud.

Water is everywhere in bowls by the pool and at the bars and in the restaurants.

Reception area - comfy and pleasant area you order drinks from a makeshift bar and they bring them over too you.

Star bar - has the football on and the drinks in there are premium. Pool table need the cloth relayed and tips on the ques, especially when they charge you a fee to play on it!

Beach bars - the beach has two bars - one on the on your all inclusive on the actual beach and a larger one to the left that you have to paid for. The views from there are lovely and worth a visit. Food here is good too.

Sports / activities on site - the gym is well equipped and there a jogging track the goes along the whole hotel by the sea. By the beach there is the water sport hub but we don’t use this. Table tennis tables could do with being in a air conditioned room.

Spa - we didn’t use this - being sun burnt didn’t want to be touched. But on this note make sure you take plenty of 50+ with you on your travels here.

You can do the regency couple experience which has access to a private and exclusive area of the hotel.

On site shop is quite expensive if your happy to venture out for snacks and drinks you’ll save some money. Its about 200/ 300 Egyptian dollars to the shops and markets I would say go at night as it’s a bit easier on the eye and more to see and do. Please be aware they will do their best to get you in their shops a shake of your head is normally enough for them to stop so don’t feel like you can’t say not and what their words they are pretty good wordsmiths when your buying something.

Now the negative and it’s a big one for me. When we checked in at 11.30pm as a happy tired family of 3, we where given a room with ONE BED!

Over all great place but I’d never probably come back as the reception team have not given me the best experience. We asked if we could keep the room as we leave quite late as flying out at 11pm, the only gesture of good will was to 2pm the fee to keep your room is 50 usd. Simple don’t think this is good enough give the check in and room situation.

My advice is you are more then a couple I’d make sure you...

Booked a holiday package with loveholidays online. Airline provider was TUI and hotel service provider was Beds with ease. But this stay was ANYTHING BUT EASY.

Firstly online the hotel is advertised as a hyatt Hotel and even on the booking confirmation it reads as Park regency (hyatt regency) and only when we turned up we learnt that it is not the hyaat regency rather a separate hotel called park regency.

Rooms are very unclean upon first entry. We reported this to the reception staff 3 times until some action was taken. Most of the staff are not fluent in English or Spanish which made the stay even more difficult. I paid for All inclusive service and the drinks are limited by time of 11pm which isn't too bad but i all inclusive means all inclusive all the time but clearly not but was happy to overlook this.

The buffet food was the same food all week with no change or variety in the food on offer. The service at buffet was terrible you have to ask multiple times to get a drinks even though there was an adequate number of staff, some of them are too busy talking on the phone or with each other to care for the customers.

The resort while nice looking was rather quite old and a lot of light fixtures were falling off, cement was dropping from the roof, floor and wall tiles missing. and was overall a poorly maintained property. They are updating paving at the hotel and the environment was dusty but I was happy to over look this as at the time Sharm El Sheikh and the province if Sinai as a holiday destination was undergoing major roadworks and redevelopment.

The swimming pool had many petals in from the plants near to the pool along with sand on the floor of the pool and visible white dots which I could not identify which means it isn't cleaned regularly.

We complained many times regarding all these things and then gave up as the poor manager kept apologising, I felt like he was the only manager who actually cared and wanted to help us. His name was Hashem and he did do everything in his power to make our stay better and i highly commend him for this. He is definitely underappreciated but I recognise all these issues are not his fault directly and he did make proactive improvements, he actively apologised and this sometimes is all I needed yo hear.

WiFi is intermittent and they use the WiFi from a different hotel and encourage customers to use a different hotels WiFi.

The TV in our room had week signal and image was poor but I was on holiday so did not complain about this as did not use the TV often but as I suffer from insomnia so it would have been nice but again didn't not complain.

The refrigerator in our room did not work and when we complained about this we were told to live with it rudely by the maintainence staff but this was difficult as we travelled with a baby and had baby food that needed to be kept chilled that eventually went off.

Room service I ordered from 6 times and all 6 times took more than 40mins to get simple drinks, when I did order food it was not hot but mildly warm so had to eat quickly.

The hotel offers a Towel Card for each customer. However when you try to get a towel they never had any and on 4 out of the 7 days I stayed I was asked to come back after 30mins, when I did they still had no towels.

I paid upwards of €1500 euros to stay the week and definitely feel that the pay did not reflect the level of service.

Overall will not stay here again unfortunately. There must be a reason the Hayaat gave this hotel up and built their own 2 miles away. Will book directly with hayaat next time. However, this being said the night Manager Hashem was very good and he made the stay pleasurable and I could tell that he really made an effort with not only myself but other customers. He was a very nice man and understood customer service and had pride and integrity in his work. Definitely deserves a promotion...

An Unforgettable 5 Nights at Park Regency Sharm El Sheikh! We just wrapped up a 5-night stay at the Park Regency Sharm El Sheikh this September, and let me tell you, it was pure magic! We enjoyed every single minute, and honestly, it’s hard to find the right words for how awesome this place is. But hey, I’ll give it a shot! The Real Stars: The Staff First off, the staff here is next-level amazing. I mean, they’re the kind of people who make you feel like family from the moment you walk in. Big shoutout to the restaurant manager Mahmoud, and the wonderful reception team—Israa, Omar, Islam, Mohamad, and Ahmad. And let’s not forget Fayrouz, who’s always on top of making sure guests are happy. You all made our stay unforgettable! The Resort: A Massive Slice of Paradise This place is HUGE, like, get-your-steps-in kind of huge. Everywhere you look, the landscape is breathtaking. We’re talking beautifully manicured gardens and wide-open spaces that are somehow always clean and perfectly kept. How they pull it off, I have no clue, but it’s impressive! Our Suite: Living the Dream We got a sweet surprise upgrade to a suite, and wow—it was like stepping into our own little palace. It had all the luxury vibes and was so cozy, we felt like royalty. Hats off to the cleaning crew who kept it spotless every day. You guys are the real MVPs! Poolside Bliss The resort has three pools, and thank goodness the water was cold because Sharm El Sheikh was blazing hot! The pools were always clean and monitored, and it was the perfect place to chill and beat the heat. The Beach: A Peek Into Another World The beach here is a total showstopper. It starts off sandy, but swim out a bit, and boom—you’re in a whole other world. Vibrant corals, colorful fish, and crystal-clear water make you feel like you’re in a nature documentary. Seriously, it’s a dream come true for snorkelers. Food: So Many Tasty Options! When it comes to food, the main restaurant has you covered with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you’re not into one dish, no worries—there’s always something else that’ll hit the spot, and the themed dinners each night keep it interesting. But I gotta say, the desserts? Chef’s kiss. They’re to die for! You can also grab tasty snacks at the pool restaurant and beach bar between meals. Everything we tried was delicious! Non-Stop Fun: Never a Dull Moment The entertainment crew is on fire here. From beach and foam parties to karaoke and disco nights, there’s always something happening. We were constantly torn between relaxing and joining in on the fun—there’s just so much going on! Things to Avoid and Tips for Your Trip One thing we’d advise is to be careful with excursions outside the hotel that your travel agency might suggest. We were deceived into trying a Safari and a spa outside the resort, and honestly, it was disappointing. The places we went to lacked the hospitality and professionalism we loved at the hotel—it just wasn’t the same vibe .For a better experience, we recommend sticking with activities offered by the hotel to keep up that standard of luxury you came for. If you want to explore, visit the Old Souk for a nice night walk or head to Soho Square. We personally didn’t enjoy Naama Bay as much, but everyone’s different!A Couple of Things to Note Be prepared to do a lot of walking, but once you get the hang of the shortcuts, it’s no biggie. The mini-market at the resort? Yeah, it’s pretty overpriced, so maybe bring what you need or buy it elsewhere. All in all, Park Regency Sharm El Sheikh was a total dream. From the fantastic staff to the beautiful surroundings, fun vibes, and mouth-watering food, it was an experience we won’t forget. Can’t wait to come back!

Just returned from a relaxing 10 day break at the Park Regency resort. Primarily chosen after reading the reviews of excellent snorkelling from its house reef. We upgraded to the Regency Club (so glad we did), which gives Club guests access to their own private beach - lovely soft sand, frequently raked and much quieter than the main beach. The beach has its own bar serving drinks and basic snacks during the day. Thanks to Moustafa for his attentive service at the beach bar, and Bahaa the friendly lifeguard who organised sun-beds and distributed beach towels. The Regency Club also has its own pool and Club House - serving breakfast and a limited dinner menu in the evenings. Our room was large, it had a modern wall mounted Samsung TV and a comfortable bed, however the bathroom was tired and in need of refurbishment and the room AC unit, although effective, was noisy. The Club’s Manager, Amr, was always helpful and kind - particularly when I needed assistance with a stomach upset - Antinal $15 from the hotel doctor saved the day. Amr is a great asset to the hotel - always greeting us by name and with a smile. We only went to the main buffet restaurant twice - it gets very busy so recommend eating early at 6.30pm when the restaurant opens. Getting served with drinks there was pretty haphazard. The Thai Restaurant is excellent but payable and good value - guests on AI receive 20% off their bill. Run by a Thai chef, you can watch the chefs cooking in their ‘open’ kitchen - we went twice and thoroughly recommend both their set menus. The Beach House and Cascades restaurants are OK, if a little dull, with similar menus to each other. There is a new Indian restaurant, Mumbai, which I can’t comment on as we didn’t eat there. There is a good, stable jetty from the Club beach for entering the sea. A lifeguard is always on duty to provide assistance if required. The marine life and corals at the Middle Garden house reef are superb - take long fins, a face mask and snorkel to fully appreciate its outstanding beauty. The area is marked out by a long chain of buoys that keeps boats away. The only downside is that quite a few tourist boats anchor off the beach later in the day, however they don’t stay long and are well outside the buoy line. The guests, primarily Russian-speaking (possibly 90%), seemed fine, however very few spoke English and as we don’t speak Russian we didn’t communicate, other than a smile or a nod on the private beach. We weren’t bothered by mosquitoes as the hotel sprays regularly. The resort (previously a Hyatt from 1997), is low-rise, with beautiful, well tended gardens. It is a big resort, with lots of steps and steep slopes, those with mobility issues may struggle, although it is possible to call for a buggy for transportation. Areas for improvement - More DEEP shade is REALLY needed, with better/bigger umbrellas on the beach and around the pool. Padded cushions for the sun-beds on The Club Beach - the main beach has them. Provide a few options for light bites at lunchtime in the Club house. Currently there is just the one hot option for dinner in the Club house, and it goes quickly. For the additional cost of upgrading to Club, I really think two options could be offered. To conclude….Unless you’re really into snorkelling (we’d typically snorkel twice a day as the visibility was so good) and are able to stretch to the Regency Club upgrade, I would consider other resorts.
