We stayed at the Mövenpick Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh for 5 days, visiting from the USA, and had the most incredible time. From the stunning views to the kindest staff imaginable, this trip will forever hold a place in our hearts. The scenery was like a mini Greece — the bluest waters and breathtaking landscapes made it feel absolutely magical.
A few special shoutouts that truly made our experience unforgettable:
🌟 Mohammed from Reception (with glasses) – Mohammed was a blessing. He helped us understand how to navigate Cairo before we left , gave honest thoughtful advice, and even stepped in to help when my dad had a situation. He followed up to check on him too. We’re so thankful for his support — exactly what we needed!
🌟 Sherif, the buffet manager – Sherif went above and beyond. He saved seats for our family and had the chefs prepare Indian vegetarian food just for us many days. His kindness and attention to detail meant the world to us. Thank you so much sherif!
🌟 The Chefs/ Waiter – Honestly, every single chef and waiter we encountered went above and beyond. Whether it was customizing meals, remembering little preferences, or simply treating us like family — the staff’s warmth and attentiveness truly made this place feel like home.
The pasta chef always cleaned the pot before cooking for us as vegetarians — so thoughtful.
The donut chef remembered me every day after handing me one the first morning. On our last day, when there were none left, he made donuts just for me that afternoon!
The chef who made gulab jamun prepared the most delicious ones and personally made sure I liked them before serving. Such heartwarming care.
Waiter Mohammed with blue eyes always had the warmest smile on his face and made us feel so cared for
The chefs who prepared the Indian food were absolutely incredible. Every dish was made with so much care and flavor — it was honestly some of the best Indian vegetarian food we’ve ever had while traveling. We felt so seen and appreciated through their cooking.
🌟 Omar from driving services – A true lifesaver. He arranged us a car ride to Farsha Café, assured us we could reach out anytime, and helped us find a safe hotel when our Cairo airport transfer didn’t show — all from Sharm El Sheikh, late at night. I’d 100% trust him again for transfers or taxis! He also helped me book a hotel in Cairo when we needed assistance late at night.
🌟 Harry from Rangoli Restaurant – Harry beautifully decorated my parents’ 25th anniversary dinner just as I had imagined. Thank you, Harry, for making such a special moment even more magical.
🌟 The hotel doctor – We’re deeply grateful to the doctor who cared for my dad. He treated and cleaned his wound, gave him the right medications, and brought us peace of mind with his professionalism and warmth.
🧖♂️ Salon Experience – There was a small incident involving my dad’s injury, but the manager Kamal, the salon manager, and Ahmed handled it professionally and swiftly. Thank you for that. I do hope better precautions and training are implemented for handling delicate items, especially for tourists who may have more sensitive health concerns such as my dad.
✨ A few suggestions:
Drink service by the pool and beach would make a big difference. We’re more used to inclusive-style resorts where someone checks in on guests at the beach or poolside. Walking all the way to the bar in the heat can be really tiring, so having a staff member come around with drinks or take simple orders would elevate the experience even more.
A few more elevators would really help, as the walk from rooms to main areas can be tiring.
All that said, this hotel has our hearts. We would 100% come back just to experience this all over again — the views, the food, and especially the amazing staff with such kind hearts. I truly hope the staff and management get to read this review — because each and every one of you made our stay unforgettable.
Thank you, Mövenpick Sharm El Sheikh, for making our stay so memorable. Can’t wait...
Read moreI stayed here with my girlfriend for 2 nights. The service is unprofessional and bad, the facilities are decent and the food is just okay.
The service team here seemed very unprofessional to me considered this is a "5 star" hotel. To begin with, our flight arrived ar an odd hour of 1 A.M. 18th of April. So we emailed the office to ask if it was best to book the night of the 17th or if early check in would be possible. We asked a month before our trip and they said early check in is possible for a cost. We were willing to pay as it seemed reasonable. We then emailed two Days before our trip to confirm early check in and we got the same response as before, we began to understand it seemed to be some automated message.
We got to the hotel around 2 A.M. to check in and then they said there were no rooms available. It seemed highly unlikely considering the shear size of the resort but we didn't contest as the man at the front desk said maybe an hour or two for a room. We were told to stay anywhere we'd like so we walked around the resort and saw the facilities. We sleeped on the beach chairs, the pool chairs, the lobby just about everywhere and nobody came to check if we were okay or comfortable, no water no snacks, nothing was offered to us.
We did not get a room until 11 A.M. and when we tried speaking to a lady that seemed to have some managerial power all she offered to say was "so sorry but just take a seat and wait till a room opens up." Again no concern for us as guests or anything. Extremely unprofessional and rude behavior. We had not showered, brushed pur teeth or had water since 2 A.M. and they had no shame in letting us sleep in the lobby. How could this possibly not look bad on the hotel??
When we got to our room there was already a sour taste in our mouths due to this service but then our room had no working TV and had an odd smell to it. We were so tired from barely sleeping that we just took the room as were grateful to even have one.
This seems to be a common thing and there are no reviews about this as for the next two days we would see piles of people sleeping on couches in the lobby every morning. This is not a good look for a 5 star hotel, and it makes me wonder if their reviews are all bots to boost their ratings. I will be contacting the main Movenpick entitity to file a complaint for the unprofessional attitude the staff had.
Regardless, the resort is decent in services like their pools beaches and restaurant. The beach had a nice sandy entrance to a pretty reef where one could snorkel. The restaurant was good with varied options everyday but with sub-par food quality in some items.
I truly dont think this is a 5 star resort as I've stayed at multiple across the world and this felt more like a reach of a 3 star hotel trying to be 5 stars. Absolutely unprofessional service and sub-par food and...
Read moreFabulous location overlooking Naama Bay. Beautiful views, gardens and scenery. Red Sea snorkelling directly off the beach with a huge array of fish, all the usuals; trigger fish, puffers, parrot, pads etc but we also saw barracuda, lion fish, eagle and sting rays. Air temperature about 30, water a bit cooler, prob 25/26.||Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. |Room is tidy and clean with usual toiletries. There’s plenty of choice of food at the buffet including gluten free bread. The Indian restaurant was really nice too. |It’s a pleasant stroll down to the variety of shops in Sharm centre for all the clothes, bags etc but I would suggest go late afternoon and not alone. US dollars seems to be the preferred currency but Pounds are also accepted. |||Responding to previous reviews; |a new escalator is being built between reception and the pool area so you won’t need to walk up the steps anymore. |We did get a few mosquito bites but never had a problem with them per se. |Personally I found the horses at the stables a little underweight/ undermuscled, I’d rather not say anymore but as a lifetime horse owner, I chose not to ride.||There’s just a couple of things that would have made our stay 5*;|The hotel really needs to buy some more sun loungers! There isn’t enough for all the guests, there needs to be at least another 20 around the pool and another 20 spread across the beach. It’s unacceptable to have to wait in a queue to be seated during the day and this small investment would really make a difference to the quality of the holiday. |The all inclusive tariff is a little confusing. Basically, it covers the food and drinks at the buffet and drinks at the beach but only the reception bar at night. Whilst the prices are very reasonable, I would rather have been charged an extra few pounds when booking my holiday so I could get a drink anywhere, including the mini bar fridge! |Please can hotels supply milk to the room or at least have some cartons available at the breakfast buffet to take away? it’s a real pain having coffee/tea making facilities without the milk to make it! ||Lastly, I have a sensitive stomach and suffered from a poorly tummy quite a few times. It was the tap water. Please clean your teeth with bottled water and don’t have any ice in your drinks. The food is all very clean and absolutely fine, it’s nothing to do with the kitchen. ||Probably the best hotel in Sharm, just far enough away from ‘the strip’ which is crammed. 15 minute drive from the airport which is great but you will see and hear a few planes. (Sharm airport was very smooth, lots of security but also a Burger King, cafe, shops etc and the best smoking room I’ve ever seen complete with English pub)||On the whole, we’d return for some more November...
