I recently stayed at the Blue Lotus Hotel in Aswan during my vacation, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the hospitality of the staff stood out—they were friendly, professional, and always eager to assist.
The hotel is perfectly located along the Nile, offering breathtaking views that you can enjoy right from the terrace. Watching the sunset over the river was one of the highlights of my trip. The location also makes it convenient to explore local attractions like the Philae Temple and the Nubian Museum.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, providing a mix of modern comfort and traditional charm. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the serene atmosphere. It was the perfect retreat after a day of exploring Aswan.
One of the standout features was the rooftop restaurant. The food was delicious, with a variety of Egyptian and international dishes to choose from. Dining under the stars while overlooking the Nile was a truly magical experience.
If I had to suggest one improvement, it would be to enhance the Wi-Fi coverage in some areas of the hotel. While it worked well in the common areas, the connection in my room could have been stronger.
Overall, the Blue Lotus Hotel exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Aswan. Whether you’re looking for relaxation or an excellent base for sightseeing, this hotel has it all. I’m already looking forward to...
Read morePros: A basic hotel with great views and polite staff who did their best to help us. However, views aren’t everything and the staff could only do so much !
Cons: On our first night we were given a room that did not lock from inside - the key got stuck. We were told to sleep with the door unlocked because the hotel is “safe”.
While that might be the case, it’s unacceptable that that was the only available option ! The wifi rarely worked - even when it did, it was utterly useless. So slow you cannot load a simple website.
Breakfast is ok, lunch and dinner menu exists but only some of the options are available.
Those with disabilities- be aware there’s a flight to stairs you must climb up and down to get out and into the hotel.
There’s nothing to do around the hotel and it is not walkable. No taxis, no uber (they just keep cancelling) which leaves you with one option - Hotel tours. Ridiculously overpriced ! Europe is cheaper. Someone needs to remind them where they are but that’s Egypt is general - a complete rip off. Every corner you turn, someone’s waiting to scan you. By the end of the trip I was weary of people smiling at me because right after the smile came “where’s my tip”!?
Oh and did I mention someone smoked multiple times in the tiny lift - it stank of cigarettes. Broken shards of glass all over the floor in front of the...
Read moreWe had to extend our stay to three nights as our cruise dates were changed. The manager was so kind and offered us an upgrade. I’m truly grateful for that because the view from our room was amazing. It’s pretty hot during the day, so we stayed indoor during the day and went out later on in the afternoon. The only downside of the hotel is its distance from downtown Aswan. There are no stores or shops close by, so do plan your meals ahead of time or you can have lunch or dinner at the rooftop of the hotel. The entrance of the hotel is kind of hidden. You need to walk down a set of steep stairs to get into the building, then to a different floor to check in. The room had everything we needed for the stay. It’s quite spacious and had a fridge, TV and and big closet. There is a bathtub in the bathroom but the shower area doesn’t have a door. The AC works great and kept us nice and cool. We had breakfast everyday, and the content is pretty similar to all other Egyptian hotels but it’ll keep you full if you finish everything. If you don’t like the hustle bustle near the center of Aswan and don’t mind the walk or taking cab, this would be a good option for a quiet, peaceful stay with a great view...
